Olympic Style Gold Medal Replica with Red, White and Blue Lanyard

This is a cheap piece of gold plated plastic. It worked great for our 'olympics' at work. Was great for the price. Would be great for a child's birthday party. It would not trick someone into thinking it was real gold but for the price was great!

Super cheap plastic. The ribbon is tiny, not as shown in their photo; It's 3/8" wide, significantly thinner than pictured. Feels like it's worth about $1, not $8.Terrible product.

The grandchildren will be playing Olympics while staying with me (grandma) for the week. I have on hand several of these medals in gold and also the silver ones. These medals are plastic but substantial. They are about 2.5" in diameter and reasonably thick with a bit of heft to feel almost like real medals. Not as heavy as metal of course, but better than expected for plastic. The ribbons are long enough to fit over the winners' heads and look good as they stand on the podium :). The gold is more intensely gold than this picture implies. The reverse side also pictures a torch but with some extra decoration as well.I selected several sports for my grandkids to compete in and am hoping to avoid sibling rivalry by having them select the country they will represent from a hat and play the role of an athlete from that country. I've downloaded all the anthems and other official music to play at the appropriate times. The children will create a board to record medals won by the different countries and calculate points as well as calculate scores to determine winners so there'll be some good learning in with the fun.I hope to get some good pictures and am very pleased with these medals to add drama to our games.
