Why cant i find the wet look lacquer sealer that you recommend for solvent sealed terracota?

Dear Friend, If your porous clay tiles were sealed with a film forming solvent base acrylic, we would recommend to use our Wet Look Lacquer to reseal. If you plan to strip the old film forming sealer off, you can use which ever sealer you like. If it was a solvent base penetrating sealer that was used in the past and your tile is still repelling water, to avoid any issues with a film forming sealer bonding, we would recommend to use one of our penetrating sealers like the Concrete & Masonry Impregnator. is it safe to use on clay tiles on a kitchen counter?

Dear Friend, Yes this product is food safe to use on counter. We would recommend to apply 3-4 coats. It is very important that it is a porous unglazed clay tile so that the sealer can penetrate and bond well. Thank you, Glaze N Seal Technical Support

How long will the product last in its container? If I purchase a five gallon bucket, will the leftovers be usable in a few years when I reseal?

Do I need to strip the previous finish on my saltillo tile before using this product? I see different opinions. What does the manufacturer say?

Dear Friend, As long as the previous water base acrylic sealer is adhered well, then ..no. You do not need to strip off old sealer. If the old sealer was a solvent base acrylic, then we would recommend to stick with a solvent base sealer like our Wet Look Lacquer sealer or strip it off before applying the Ole sealer which is a water base acrylic. If the tile has a floor polish or wax on the surface, then you would want to strip that off using Glaze N Seal Heavy Duty cleaner before sealing with the Ole.
