Yes, this light should work for your sign just fine. Specially if you are talking outside at night Time. Yet, this is not a spot light. It is not super bright. To go brighter you may want to go with the same type light but 20w instead. Also keep in mind the 10w is a 12v. Great if you plan to connect it to solar power.

I'm not sure how much light you need for "bow fishing" or if you need enough light to see fish underwater, but this light is as bright as say a regular 25W bulb. It's good for a 10W light. I'd give it a try, what do you have to lose, you'll have other uses for it if it doesn't do the trick.
