Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment WGen5300 Series Portable Generator Never-Flat Wheel and Handle Kit, Compatible with WGen5300DF and WGen5300DFc

My new generator didn't come with a wheel kit. This is the one required to make it mobile. Frankly, it was too heavy to move by myself. Lots of generators come with wheel kits but this one required purchasing this add-on to get more mobility.It was easy enough to install and works as expected. Basic hand tools and a little thought is all it took because the instructions left a little to be desired. I improvised where the washers went as it wasn't 100% clear to me so I used my best judgement.

Bought this for a Westinghouse WGen5300FDc generator. Wheels, handle, and feet fit perfectly and took about 5 minutes to install. Quality seems to be just fine, typical of what you would get on a portable generator. Package came with no directions but straight forward procedure. It would have been nice if the wheels would of have bearings but obviously not absolutely necessary. I would recommend the kit as these generators are heavy and it makes maneuverability very easy.

The wheel kit for the Westinghouse 3600 generator has been out of stock for 2+ years. The Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment WGen5300 Series Portable Generator Never-Flat Wheel kit fit the 3600 except for the pull handle so I cut the handle, removed a 2.5 inch section from the handle's middle and inserted a tightly fitting metal tube to span the seam where I'd removed the 2.5 inch section. The grip supplied with the handle is supposed to be slid from the end of the handle but I put it on a half of the handle prior to installing the inside metal tube. The grip was the hardest part even using alcohol as a lubricant (per wheel kit instructions) to move it around. The wheels and rubber support stops fit without modification. I recommend this kit for the 3600 generator as long as you're ok using a hack saw and can get a metal tube that fits inside the handle. I knocked a star off due to the mods I had to do. The components appear good. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Easy to install

So I have tried three seperate times to get the right wheels that have steel bearings. Two from Amazon and one time from Home Depot. All have ABS plastic serface for bearings. These will not hold up to the wieght. Westinghouse shows steel bearings in the ad for model 5300 generator. These are aftermarket units I think. Now I am stuck with plastic for bearings.....! So beware this could happen to you as well. The generator is good but the wheel kit sucks. I saw a YouTube review showing the steel bearings so I know it was at one time good. Good luck.

This wheel kit for my generator was easily installed in a matter of minutes. You have to look up the directions for installation online (directions do not come with the wheel kit), but the directions were easily found and just as easy to follow. Once installed, the wheels and handle make the generator (which weighs over 100 pounds) easy to maneuver and move out of the garage and away from the house.

I like everything about the product except the price, no wheel bearings. Since it came with wheels I could pick up at Harbor Freight for a few dollars. How about changing the picture you show ? At least Lowes showed what you actually received.
