Works great!
The Generac dealer sales guy, the Generac sales rep, and the Generac installer all said the new 26kW generator couldn’t be connected via Ethernet - it has built-in wifi and that was it.Well, that built in wifi was very unreliable, even with an access point right near by. It might work for a week before inexplicably disconnecting, and the only way to get it back online was to go out to the generator and stumble through the menus to re-do the wifi setup. Infuriating! This little module is way overpriced but it gets the job done. Installation was fairly straight forward, just disconnect the existing wifi 8-port connector from Port 1 on the underside of the controller and plug in this module. Run an Ethernet line in to the module and it’s reliably online!I put in a MobileLink support request to transfer my subscription over to the new module and they took care of it very quickly.Highly recommended.

Works fine.
Only works with 2.4GHz network, and I had to call support because UI is confused - you have to log out of your account to add the device, ability to do it is only on the login screen. Beyond that, it seems to be delivering the advertised online access.

Works As Expected But Instructions Are Poor
It's a very simple installation using the supplied harnessed but trying to follow the provided instructions made it very difficult to follow. I had some software issues with the app that got cleared up in 15 mins after I called Generac support. I get all the important generator status information on my phone and that's all I need.Recommend!

Do it
Easy to install, and a great upgrade to my unit. Won't be surprised by downtime in the future.

Works for my Generac 8kw
Added to my older generac 8kw generator. I did notice it favors the wifi signal instead of the hardwired Lan connection, and there's no way to force it one way or another. However, it is stable with the ios app and shows me what I need to see for my generator.

Don't retrofit a Generac generator - it doesn't work.
Sent it back. Had a Generac certified tech try to install it. After over an hour on the phone with Generac tech support (who were very nice), they opened a trouble ticket and it sat in limbo for 5 days and 3 phone calls (by me to get progress). I am tired of waiting, so sending this unused and not useful item back. If your generator doesn't already come with a built in Wi-Fi option, don't bother trying to retrofit it. Whether it's the hardware or the software is unknown, but even with an access point 5 feet away and only sending out 2.4GHz signals (the only frequency this device will speak), with the latest Generac App and iOS, it fails consistently to work. I was pretty dumb to think I could get the device to work when soooo many other users failed (and returned the same device).

Easy monitor
Getting linked in took some effort and help from the service provider, but love to use as a monitor when away from home for extended periods. Would highly recommend

Don't follow the directions!
The directions for this item seem to be straightforward, but they leave out one essential item: once you have the device installed, call Generac! Only the tech support person can change the Wi-Fi connection in the app. Take a close-up picture of the serial numbers, etc. on the device before calling. And don't bolt the end panel until you've got the device finally initialized an operating.
