The Datavac's light weight and small size made it an easy choice for HVAC repair.
The Metro Vac was an excellent tool for a very specific task: cleaning the blades of a squirrel cage blower fan during a motor swap in my attic's HVAC unit. Its compact size was the primary reason for my selection. In this case I was hunting the dust caterpillars that build up on squirrel cage blades over the course of 40 years worth of service. It's not the most powerful vacuum, and if you've worked at an IT service desk or in computer repair you know these little vacs are ubiquitous. But its lightweight, small footprint make it perfect for jobs that require lugging a vac up a ladder into a hot August attic. The vacuum also comes with a useful array of accessories and can be configured as a blower. For my application this American-made vacuum performed Five stars "worth" of service.

Good for dirty dusty data racks
Its a bit pricey for a mini vac, but then you are paying more for the special attachments that can get into data ports and brush/suck away the dust that is layering your intake fans.Blower function is good if not in a place where blown dust will get on anything else or in anything else. I like it better than the canned air since its dry and will not run out of air in a matter of minutes.Recommend this for switches, routers, APs, or any network equipment that needs a delicate but deep clean.I suppose one could use it to detail a car interior as well, but I feel its probably better at cleaning network equipment.

A wonderful tool for computer and server dusting.
This thing for such a small unit can really push/ pull air. I normally go through about 3 cans of air when I clean my network. This thing will pay for itself in the first year.I highly recommend this for anyone with computers, platform consoles, or servers in a really dusty environment.I added a tube sock to the exhaust/ blow end when vacuuming just to add another layer of particulate capture. It really doesn't need it, but my wife was concerned that it would just through dust around the house. The filter seem to do a really good job though.

Perfect for cleaning vintage electronics
I collect and repair vintage audio equipment, test equipment, and computer equipment. All this old gear arrives filled with decades of dust. I bought this vacuum cleaner for dedicated use at my electronics workbench. Typically, I vacuum everything I can, starting with the bare hose, then the large brush, then the small brush. When I can't vacuum any more dust, then I reverse the hose and blow out more dust! Then I repeat the whole procedure at least once more. I like having this small but powerful vacuum cleaner dedicated for this kind of work. The only cons are the price and the fact that holding or wearing it is unwieldy. I generally just leave it on my floor at my workbench. The hose generally reaches where I need it to.

So powerful and versatile.
I love I can use it on the computers, but I also use it on delicate lamp shades, lamp bases, book cases and many other items in the house. Especially my desk that has small open slats where every crumb collects!!! So glad I picked this one for sure!!

Works great, the blower is great if the nozzle can't reach
The vacuum is certainly strong enough for picking dust off of electronics, keyboards, etc. including on the interior of the case, where it can reach. The attachment surfaces avoid the static buildup that worried me when using regular vacuum attachments.I don't use the blower for drying, but for something like a radiator in a liquid cooled system the blower can clear it out even if the placement is unreachable without disassembly. Obviously, this has no chemicals to worry about depositing on electronics. It helps to have a room air filter turned up to max when doing this.

Not really worth it
Not really worth the price. I bought this to clean up in and around my 3d printer and computers , but it can't handle anything more than crumbs and maybe dust balls. Anything else and it clogs the tube. Not really good for getting dust out of computers or fans. The so called feet do not hold it steady so it rolls and falls off of whatever you put it on and forget flexing the tube , that guarantees it will fall over. It works best if mounted to something, but that kinda undoes the portable idea. While it is a quality product and not built of plastic and hope, the emptying and changing is a jenga-like exercise twisting and turning the end over and over until it decides to lock back in place. All in all it's a bad execution of a good idea. I'm reasonably sure there there's a better solution out there.

so far works great. shopvac mini accs fit.
so far, works great. shopvac micro cleaning kit model 80189 mini vacuum accessories UPC 026282801890 fits the hose. I happened to have bought that at walmart a couple years ago and tested to see if it works with the new computer vac and it does. so if you want more power, you can use the shop vac attachments, but be very careful because the included mini attachment system has holes to make it less powerful to not damage computer and electronic insides.190087
