Solving the old school way
I haven’t done math in years. This is a great refresher for me. I wish it was more of a mix of different types of math problems. But none the less it’s definitely got me pulling out paper and a pen to solve these problems. Without cheating with a calculator.

This is working for my needs
I train older folks regarding activities of daily living. This book is helpful in retraining some skills that people have forgotten. The book helps the brain get going again. It works for my needs. I have several of these types of easy games / skills books for adults. These books are turning things around for several older adults w memory loss, & other cognitive deficits as they age.

Boring:
Specifically for adults but not at all suitable. Far too much is impossible without a calculator and answers in division are not even whole numbers. Users need to have a mathematical brain to get any benefit from these examples and the algebra requires a user to try and recall O and A level processes and no answers given. This booklet is not suitable for us 85 year olds needing stimulation to keep brain cells exercised- just very frustrating inabilities for even an alert young mathematician. I could not recommend it. Problem solving verbal questions such as KS 3 would challenge adults’ ability to reason the mathematical processes in order to come up with a correct solution. These are my opinions, others may like page after page of the same ‘sums’ requiring the ability to feed info into a calculator even if the appropriate cognitive and manipulative skills are present.
