It works great. I’ve had it for 4 years and it still works great

Resists wind! (But don't rely on that.)
Apart from the many great features others have mentioned, this pad is extraordinarily wind resistant. Maybe I just got lucky. Here's the story .....I'm in Northern Colorado. In late-winter and spring, it's very windy here. I went flying two days ago in the 1/2-mile wide valley between two parallel, 500'-high ridges; these are called "hogbacks" and are well-known to focus and amplify wind. It was windy, but I placed the pad on the lee-side of my vehicle, in the winter-flattened leftovers of last summer's grass. Despite the wind, I was able to successfully fly my Mavic Air (another review entirely!). When finished, I packed up and drove away. Without my pad. It's been *very* windy since, and I figured I'd never see it again. But it's a nice spot, and I went out to fly there again today (20 miles), thinking "5% chance the pad is there. In these winds? Nah." And there it was.I cannot explain why; I didn't stake it or put weights on it. My best theory: the taut fabric T's into the narrow rim; in profile, it looks rather like this character: Ͱ (If that symbol didn't work for you, think of the letter T tipped over by 90 degrees.) Perhaps the narrow upper lip aerodynamically creates downward pressure when the wind hits it, pressing the leading edge of the pad more firmly to the ground? I can't say, that's just a guess.I know I was extraordinarily lucky, but still ... that pad should have blown away. A similar sized piece of cardboard would have been in the next county, I'm certain. In any case, the included stakes are pretty useless unless you're on sand. I ordered a set of beanbags (Amazon product B01IN60KCA). They'll be fast and easy to deploy along the edges as hold-downs.Because even if I never leave the pad behind again--lesson learned!--the beanbags will ensure that the pad stays put for the duration of the flight.

Pad good but not bag
Saw this pad.....seems well made....like the blue on one side orange on other.....brand new to drones and will use it with mini 2......should keep drone clean on landing and takeoff......hard to fold at first but i will learn....My bag is torn at seam after first use....bags are cheaply made at seams.....i knocked off 1 star for that......pad is good but bag no good....thanks and safe flying gang

Good landing/launch pad for small drones.
The small sise of this launch pad is best for small drones like the DJI mini. It's almost too small for my DJI Phantom 4 Pro. They make a larger sise pad that's better for larger drones. (Guess which key on my keyboard is broken.)

Perfect Pad Protects Prized Possession
Light weight, packs small. This is a single, two sided landing pad (blue on one side, orange on the other). Comes with a set of 8 red reflective self-adhesive strips that can be attached to the pad. The round spring that holds the pad open is pretty strong. Pops right open when removed from the case. Comes with 3 yellow plastic spikes for anchoring the pad to the ground, and a nylon carrying case. Not sure if the spikes are necessary. The landing pad has a low profile. Would probably stay put even on a windy day. I might use them in sand, but not dirt. Don't want to have to clean them off. Another reviewer suggested bean bags to anchor the pad, which I bought separately. They worked great.I bought the landing pad for use with my Mavic Pro, which has a low stance. This pad works great, keeping my drone clean and protecting the camera with landing on grass, sand, or whatever.

Very handy landing marker for any drone.
This is really handy to just be able to throw on the ground, set up your drone, and fly away. The provided stakes are pretty weak and could break. I will replace them eventually with metal stakes. Right now I just lay it on the ground. If the wind is blowing hard enough to move or flip the landing pad, probably not a good idea to fly smaller drones.

MUST HAVE!
Ive heard plenty of of people say that the Mavic Pro never lands "exactly" where it took off from. According to them, its always off by at least 5ft to 10ft in radius of where it initially took off from and its true. But the reason it does this is that it uses GPS and the lower body sensor also uses color coordination to land as close as possible to where it took off from. Having this landing pad eliminates this guess work. the bright blue and orange help the Mavic land RIGHT BACK WHERE IT TOOK OFF FROM!. The reflective material is great on bright days and over cast days. some would argue saying "I can use a towel"? the Mavic is powerful and the down draft it produces will send any towel or loose item flying off, which could potentially end up on your props. This pad anchors on sand, gravel, grass and dirt. it is easy to transport and cleans up super easy. A MUST HAVE FOR ALL DRONES, not just the Mavic.

Poor design
I would avoid this. The stakes can it the rotar blades. The dimension is not large enough for RTH landing. I am happy with the landing gear extensions as they keep the Mavic out of the grass most of the time. I'm going to keep this item, the quality is just perfect, but the application is really what's in question. If they make it where the stakes didn't point way up in the air, and the dimension was wider by another foot, at least, then it would be a more useful product. I've used mine a few times now out of the hundreds of landings I've had and I just not bother with it anymore because of those issues I mentioned.
