Is this food good for weight loss? I have an 8 year of Pom that needs to lose about 7 lbs

This food really helped my beagle/corgi mix reach a healthy weight, and maintain it. Beagles and corgis are both known to get lazy and gain weight quickly, which she did, but after putting her on this food she got down to her optimal weight and has stayed there. She is a 25 lb. dog and gets 1/3 C. (dry measured) twice per day.

What should the consistency be when mixed? My first time and it came out really soupy. Did I use too much water?

Why can't you just leave the garlic out? Now I am worried about continuing to feed to my babies.
