Good looking, great quality, keeps excellent time. - Band is a little stiff
I purchased the Rose Gold as it had a cream face, and I didn't have any watches that matched that face color. I almost got the white face with the silver bezel, and I feel either would have been a good choice. The watch arrived well packaged, with all the instruction booklets and tags. When you first remove the watch from its box, you have to attach the deployment clasp to a hole in the band to fit your wrist. Since this was a standard-length band, I selected the third hole from the end, which fit my 7 3/8" wrist perfectly. You will want to make sure the tang (pin) is inserted securely so the band doesn't come loose while wearing it. I also noticed the band was quite stiff, so I massaged it around the lugs before wearing it, which allowed it to conform to my wrist better. The watch has a dial size of 42.5 mm and a lug to lug size of 50.5 mm, both of which fit fine on my wrist which is 7 3/8", but note if you wrist is smaller than 7" the watch might hand over wrist makeing it uncomfortable. I said may, because some wrist are more flat while others are more round, which will change how this watch will fit you. Setting the watch was easy. The first thing I did was to set the time to 6:30. Why? To avoid damaging the delicate internal gears by preventing manual date changes during the "danger zone" (roughly 9 PM to 3 AM) when the watch is automatically advancing the date, which can jam or break the mechanism. The safest practice is to first set the time to around 6:30 (hands pointing down) to clear the danger zone, then adjust the date, and finally set the correct time, ensuring the date changes only at midnight. You can pull the crown out to the second position and change the day first then the date. I changed the date to one day prior, then advanced the watch forward until the Moon/Sun were correct and let the day change automatically. This way I was assured all items were set correctly. Since the watch has a hacking movement (when you pull the pin out the second had will stop so you can set the watch exactly), I then set the time at 3:00 pm exactly with the second had on 12. Using my iPhone when the clock struck 12 I pushed the pin and and I was synced exactly with the correct time. 24 hours later (wearing the watch, but not during bed time) the watch was still at the exact time and didn't even loose or gain one second, which was a pleasent suprise. I don't know if it will continue to be this accurate, but that is a great start. This Orient watch punches above its price range in comfort, style and quality. I have watches that cost four and five times the cost, and really they don't offer anything extra especially for the price. I would recommend this watch for casual to dress, it can go from Jeans to dress with no problem. I may get a different band later down the road, not so much because I don't like the other band, but change the color up some so it gives me more options. If you are on the fence about this watch, climb over and get it. It's worth it.

Nice watch for the price category
Very nice for the price. Oriental is a part of Seiko group, so the movement is Japanese, but this watch was built in Thailand. It's a little thicker than some, but with the added complications, it's kinda part of the territory. It's a very attractive dial, giving it the look of a much more expensive watch. The sun and moon dial is not a moon phase, it's AM and PM, which is fine by me. Overall, it's a great looking watch for a fashion watch price. I doubt it's highly accurate (mechanical watches are inherently less accurate than a quartz watch), but it'll put a smile on my face, which is why I bought it to begin with. As far as longevity, we'll see how things pan out. I'll be replacing the watch band immediately. It's comfortable, but not really my style. I bought this as a fun watch, because I like how it reminds me of a much more expensive watch. Want a much nicer watch that looks similar? Shell out $12k for a Glashutte Original.

Sophisticated and Iconic
One of the best and most iconic watches you can get for the price. I get a compliment on this watch nearly everytime I wear it. Looks sophisticated (and is) without breaking the bank. Love this watch! Also, great build quality. I'm not very gentle with it and it doesn't have a scratch.

Amazing watch for the price!
A mechanical watch with these complications and reputation is hard to get for under $300. The sapphire crystal, case polish, and engraving on the movement are beautiful. Furthermore, while certainly not amazing, the leather strap isn’t as bad as some would have you believe. The day and night complication is wonderful! Has much of the same astrological appeal of a moon phase with more noticeable movement throughout the day. However, this watch is not without its faults. Upon closer inspection, the dial looks plasticky and cheap. On mine, the date wheel text is rough on some numbers as opposed to sharp and clean. Lastly, it is much bigger than one might expect. The stated diameter is 42.5mm, but the thickness and lug to lug length make it wear larger than other 42-43mm watches. Overall, I’m satisfied with the purchase. For $290, I’m more than willing to overlook these minor flaws and enjoy what is otherwise a great watch!

"Sleeper" luxury!
I purchased this for myself and I may not buy any other dress watch.. 40 hour power reserve, sun / moon complication, and in-house "Caliber 46B40" movement provide a very luxurious feel. Since it's automatic, it's powered by the movement of your hand. You only need to wind up if you take the watch off for more than 40 hours. A few bonuses are sapphire crystal for robust scratch resistance, and an "exhibition" (see through) case back. One common complaint I saw is that 42.5mm may be too large of a watch, but I personally like the size. One thing I didn't like was the provided leather "deployment clasp" strap. This clasp seems convenient at first (quick to get on/off), but it's a PAIN to make small adjustments on the fly. To fix the issue with the strap, I just replaced it with another leather strap from Etsy. No biggie at all. This is a crazy value. Underrated watch for sure.
