What's the diameter of the body?

Well the handles the width of my hand with the head of the light sticking out i’d say it’s about inch and a quarter around maybe 1 inch . It’s a great light VERY bright on high , batteries are expensive but I found a 12 pack at Lowe’s for $27 and that beat anywhere online and they’re actually good surefire quality batteries

Does this have an optional pressure switch?

It has a tail cap switch with high, low, and strobe. You can push lightly to get a "momentary" without engaging until it actually "clicks" into the on position. There may be remote pressure switches available for this model but it does not come with one.

do I haveto buy the streamlight 18650 battery or will any rechargeable 18650 work?

Any battery of 18650 size and voltage will work, it just may not give you the same run time . Streamlight make a rechargeable 18650 that works awesome
