NOW Foods, Lactose, Encourages Beneficial Gut Bacteria, Product of the USA, 1-Pound (Packaging May Vary)

This is a powerful prebiotic. It took 2 months to go from a tiny pinch daily to my current maintenance dose of 1 teaspoon per day. Gas and extreme bloating were major side effects until about 1/2 of the way through. By the end of those 2 months, my stomach became super flat, and also (embarrassingly, but could be helpful for some), the fire in my tush finally went out. Both bloating and tush issues are sensitive areas for me, and while not a cure, this went a long way in curbing those symptoms. Obviously, this will work only if one is lactose intolerant. I read a paper postulating that the decreasing ability of adults to digest lactose could provide advantage (thus selective pressure?) in maintaining intestinal health into advanced age. Interesting.

This is the missing ingredient to add to a barista style oat milk plus a small amount of 1/2&1/2 to get a good cup of coffee without sweeteners or flavoring ... and a fraction of the saturated fat of dairy 1/2&1/2. Lactose is MUCH less sweet than table sugar (sucrose) but adds the subtle dairy flavor that is missing from oat milk, without actually 'sweetening' the ciffee. I think the search is over at last.

This lactose milk sugar is nice and fresh, packaged well, and works great when I make my homemade stout. I would purchase this brand again.

I thought these were a great deal. But then I found that you can get an even better deal getting them From Vitacost. The quality is good.

Bit of an odd one for me to review, but hubby is a Veterinarian and he needed this to give some medication to cows. Worked as expected, and he was very happy with the price for the quality/freshness.

Wow i didn't know this stuff existed before I started brewing. I learned that to back sweeten my ciders that I need to add a non-fermentable sugar, cue the lactose sugar. I honestly didn't know it had so many different uses. Tastes great in my brews!

A bit pricy but worth it. I bought this product to aid in digestion and regularity for my son. It helps to soften stool and keep you regular without cramps! I rather give my child something I know and grew up with, than medicine I can't pronounce. I trust NOW Foods and use several products from this company. A warning about Lactose Sugar, Do Not Use if you are lactose intolerant!
