The description says it is made of abs. is the bell really not metal?

It is a steel metal bell. The casing that holds the solenoid is abs plastic.

Is this a single stroke bell or vibrating bell? In other words, does it go "ding" or does it continuously ring?

will it replace my old door bell ??
