This is a solid plug and very sturdy. It fits the Connecticut Electric 50amp box just fine. This will be used to connect the new generator to the house in the event of a power outage. It took some effort to get the 3/1 #6 wire through the rubber in the black piece but it fits. Using #6 stranded was a little tight due to the shorter length so it will all fit in the housing, but was able to do it. I used a multimeter to make sure there were no cross connections. Haven't had the need to actually try the plug yet. I would recommend this plug.

I built a 50A 220v generator cord with this plug. Everything seems well made and should last a long long time. The locking grooves are snug for a good fit into the socket. Everything worked well when I tested it!

Product is high quality and fit our generator plug perfectly. I saw one review where someone had to sand the plug, but for us, it slide perfectly into the socket and with a twist, locked in place. Much cheaper to install this plug, than replace you entire generator cord, which could be expensive. Would order again if needed.

Cheaper, but shell is plastic and not metal, easy to damage. OK for static applications.
