His strengths are awe-inspiring. His obstacles are beyond the reach of any mere mortal. His trials are the stuff of myth. But nothing will prepare Hercules for what lies ahead in all 24 action-loaded episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys Season 2. Kevin Sorbo once again picks up the sword of the iconic hero as he travels through the ancient world with his friend Iolaus (Michael Hurst) in a never-ending struggle against both human and supernatural evils. Respected and reviled for his parentage as the son of Zeus and a beautiful mortal woman, Hercules faces a slew of enemies – from the mother of all monsters to vengeful gods and stealthy shapeshifters – in his quest to rid the world of inhumane cruelties. It’s unrivaled adventure laced with wit, humor and even a spark of romance in the undying tale of the greatest fighter the world has ever known. Review: Hercules - Season Two - TV Series - After receiving Hercules Season One - with Kevin Sorbo as the star, I knew I just had to start buying each season for my DVD collection. Hercules was a program we all looked forward to watching on Saturday afternoons, and we never missed one episode. Right after was Xena Warrior Princess, so for two hours, it was heros and mytholoical monsters and a lot of fun, especially when they made references to modern day things... here's an example: everyone know the 1969 song WAR by Edwin Starr - Hercules, while speaking to his friend Yolis (after helping a king win somekind of war), says to him - "War, huh" - then Yolis goes on to say "Yeah - what is it good for", with Hercules finishing off the line of that song "Absolutely nothing." That is what made the series so much fun to watch. I wanted to start adding the Hercules TV series to my DVD collection, so once again turned to desertcart.com and ordered Season Two for a great sales price. I plan on purchasing the other seasons as well, but will wait until they go on sale on desertcart. Don't hesitate to make this series part of your collection. This was fun entertainment back then and still holds true to form now, and is nothing like the "throw-away" TV shows we laughingly call entertainment these days. Review: Awesome series - I have been wanting to own these series for a while and I am glad I did. It's fun to watch over and over

Just for fun.
I went through high school watching Hercules and Xena on tv. My husband and I decided it would be fun to get this series again. It is just as silly and campy as I remember. lol But, I still really like the series. Though i'm a huge fan of Michael Hurst and believe his character Iolaus makes a large portion of the comedy, to me. There are a few episodes that kind of make your roll your eyes, but most are humerous. Just make sure you go into the series remembering that this was done in the 90s when fantasy tv series were just starting to become hits.

Great Second Season, Loved the First! Funny, Entertaining, Inspiring.
It's aimed at the younger set, but it has great messages without being preachy. Great way to relax and escape.

A five disc dvd box set containing all twenty four episodes of classic 90's fantasy show 'Hercules: The legendary Journeys'. If you're new to the show after all these years, then best to start with the five tv movies that began it all. Then season one. IMPORTANT: this is a region one dvd. So it's not going to work on regular British dvd players. Which are just region two. You will need a multi region player for this. Each episode is forty five mins [approx]. Language and subtitles: Languages: English. Subtitles: English. This keeps the same format as season one. With more episodes though. Each story is stand alone. Although most of them are still pretty conventional fantasy in terms of plotting, you will see points where it starts to get more inventive in terms of storytelling and humour. This show never had the greatest budget. But it succeeded thanks to strong writing and acting, and likeable leads. Kevin Sorbo remains the greatest Hercules ever. In my opinion at any rate. He does get great support from the rest of the cast though. We do also get an Iolaus solo episode, which they would do again in due course. The show is confident enough by now to handle this perfectly. Do be way of the last of the twenty four episodes though. As it's a clip show. Something else tv used to do. Cobble together an episode quickly by framing it round clips from other ones. These could be fun and inventive. This one isn't terrible. But it's forty five mins when you could be doing better things. It's the only dud of the season though. A very confident one, for a show that would just keep getting better and entertaining with it. The first disc does begin with a trailer, which can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. This disc does have a section of previews. With trailers for other shows of the 90's. That's the only extras on any of the discs though. This being an American dvd means no certificate on it as we know them. I would say twelve is best. Great box set though of a great show.
