Q: Do these balls break easily ?

Mine have not broken, but likewise they are not handled as I attached them to an artificial half tree designed to hang on a wall. Each year after Christmas I take the tree off the wall and store it in a box until the following Christmas. I thought they might discolor because they are stored in a garage with no climate control (extreme heat in the summer and extreme cold in the winter. They are just as pretty after several years as they were when I received them.

Q: Do they have hooks or strings on them?

There are no added hooks or strings just the metal cap with the open circle (as pictured).

Q: So what is the difference between the old version and the new version? I cannot see any differences in the photos.

I had no idea that there was a version new or old. All I know is that I did get them and they ended up being the exact balls that I needed for my little glass tree.
