Great Product, Great Support
I've used many different mic stands for my condenser mic. I've found a lot of the spring ones don't last or support the weight of my mic well enough. This one is great, easy enough to adjust, and strong. It supports the weight just fine, and I can keep it in place or adjust it as necessary without difficulty. The threads of one of the nut pieces where the mic is held got stripped somehow and no longer worked so I contacted their support and they were kind, respectful, and easy to work with to obtain a replacement. I highly recommend this mic stand for anyone that has issues with spring-based stands or who prefers a more static setup.

good enough
i bought 2 of these and you can take them apart and piece it together the way you want. i used the longer arms from both to make a really long boom over my monitors and its holding up fine. i wish that was an option from the get-go but nobody else makes it either. my only complaint is the granularity of the adjustments is pretty coarse but it works for me. There is no spring/tension action, its just friction and notches at the joints. comes with a mic adapter. cable management is simple and works fine.

Gets the job done at an inexpensive price point!
I really wasn't expecting much, so I can definitely say I'm not disappointed. That having been said, let's start with the good. First, all the important parts are metal, which is nice. I have seen others that have a plastic adapter piece to fit various size mics, but this one is made with brass, so it all fits nicely and feels sturdy. I have a Blu Snowball and this stand works great with it. Fit is good, and it has no trouble at all supporting the weight. The knobs to adjust tightness work "ok" and I don't get the impression they'll fail easily, but I'm skeptical of their long term reliability. Now for the not-so-great. It does feel slightly flimsy. It doesn't wobble terribly or anything, but I've definitely seen better workmanship. Still, for the price, one can't really complain. The biggest grievance I have with it is the non-adjustable hinges are _very_ tight. I can take the bottom set of springs off and there's no worry about slippage. Of course, this means that adjusting it can be challenging since you can't just easily push it away. It usually requires two hands for me to adjust it. A minor niggle, but if you're one of those people that can't stop adjusting your mic (you know who you are) you might want to look for something that adjusts a little more easily. My only other complaint (but really just a nit pick) is that I wish it were longer. I have a fairly deep desk (think Ikea) and I can't easily mount it to the back of the desk and bring it all the way across to me without it feeling super awkward. I fixed this by mounting it to the side of my desk. Plus, if I'm being fair, the range and range of motion is about par for the course for this type of design. Overall, I'd say it's a worthy investment if you're looking for a cheap mic stand. Even more so since you don't get the pop filter and other things that normally drive up the prices on these things. Still, if you want those things, then you have to look elsewhere. If you just want something simple that works, this should be great.

Very good quality, Sturdy
First things I like to say is that this is a scissor arm that CAN handle the weight of a Blue Yeti -- a fantastic, but notoriously heavy microphone. Simple to install, nicely constructed, excellent instructions including a rundown of the issue with some older Blue Yetis that were manufactured with the wrong size bolt. It even included a small roll of thread tape just in case, which I thought was above and beyond what most companies would provide. Adjustment after the fact is easy, the whole setup feels very sturdy. Load-bearing capabilities are fast and easy to adjust just by removing a pair of springs and moving a single screw. The default configuration is for lighter to average-weight microphones, but if you have a Blue Yeti, you're going to want to adjust it for the heavier load, it makes a huge difference. The instruction booklet that comes with it is very clear on how to do this and the entire process takes 5 minutes or less. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive arm to get their recording equipment up off of their desk! I will be coming back to purchase from Aokeo again, best experience I had!

Light mics only.
Worked fine until the thin metal at the base insert sheared. Would not use with heavier mics. Springs are also very noisy. Would highly recommend sleeving over some shrink wrap or duct tape to reduce handling noise.

Seriously great for the price
I've been doing voiceovers for my corporate elearning work for many years. I've used desk tripods, desk weighted base stands, floor stands with boom arms, and now this small desk clamp boom arm. This is by far my favorite of the types of ways to have my mic get to my mouth. I have it mounted on a shelf that's about 3 feet above the surface of my desk, and it comes down plenty far and turns in exactly the right directions to have the mic in the right spot. I'm using a cheap condenser mic from some offbrand Chinese place, also found here on Amazon, and it's a small upright version that you have to speak into the front of. Fits perfectly into this boom arm and gets right to the spot I need it. I've only used the arm a couple of times since I got it a couple of weeks ago, but I'm quite happy with the build quality -- all metal, lots of pivot points, good springs, and no squeaks. Stays in place whether I have it pulled to me or pushed up and away. Amazing deal for such a low price!

Great stuff. Beats the others I've had before. Whether that means my previous were really bad or this one really good is a question but this one lives up to being what it should be -- a quality arm
