Crank Bros, Best Walkable Pedal Tech
I've been using Crank Bros pedals on my commuter and CX bikes for years. Having used other 'walkable' pedal systems such as Shimano and Time, the ease of entry and exit for Crank Bros is far better than the rest. I usually buy the cheaper Candy 3 pedals and run them till they wear out. Decided to give the Candy 2's a try since you can rebuild them.. If you are a weight weenie these seem significantly heavier because of the metal construction. The plastic C3's also hurt less when you miss the pedal during a race and the pedal body spins around and rams into your shin. I'll probably stick to the C3's in the future. But these will go on my commuter bike and be rebuilt when the time comes.

These look great and the previous pair served me well on my cyclocross race bike.My first time riding any clipless pedals at all and these surely alleviated any apprehension I had about riding clipless pedals. easy to clip out of and get taht foot down in an emergency. Plenty of surface area to get the power down and feels surefooted eevn in very muddy conditions. THey shed mud very well!

Everything they promised
I've ridden Shimano pedals for years. I bought Crank Brothers Candys on a recommendation from a fellow cyclist. They are easy in and out, and have less slop while pedaling. My one concern is the brass cleats. Time will tell how they hold up

First clipless pedals
These are the pedals I bought when I finally went clipless. Very easy to clip in once you figure out how to do it. Have been using them for about 6 weeks now and have no complaints. Have ridden 4-5 miles with regular shoes. Not very comfortable, which is expected, but doable. Would not want to ride much further than that without by biking shoes.

Difficult Cleat Engagement - No "Float"
After thousands of cycling miles using Shimano, Speedplay, and Bebop clipless pedals, I ordered these as a less costly option for my secondary bike. They were returned after about 150 miles use.Evident almost immediately is that these pedals have absolutely no "float" at all, even less than Shimano SPD's. If you're not familiar with pedal "float", it refers to a clipless pedal's ability to let your foot (and knee) rotate somewhat before the cleat disengages. This allows your feet/knees to find their natural rotational angle on the pedal. If you need float, look somewhere else.Cleat engagement with these pedals is also relatively clumsy, usually requiring looking down at the pedals to get the shoe cleats properly engaged.Your results may vary, but I'll stick to other brands. More expensive, but less hassle.

Love these pedals. Metal, sturdy, look good, will probably last forever.
I just got my first mountain bike, Scott Genius, and I went with these pedals.I love them. I like the egg beater style, easy in, easy out. These have the surface area I wanted to pedal a bit even when I'm not clipped in.Love these pedals. Metal, sturdy, look good, will probably last forever.

great pair of pedals!
Rode them hard everyday for a month. They have hit rocks, gotten wet and muddy and they still work great. Holds my feet in tight enough so my feet don't slip off but not so tight that it is to hard to clip out. Clip out is nice and smooth. The spring seems sturdy enough to last years with little to no problems.

Worthless Warranty!
Pedals are generally okay, but Crank Brothers warranty is worthless. I sent sticky pedal back under warranty and they only want to sell me additional parts and service. Frankly, they made their decision before seeing the pedal -- said my cleat was not dialed in properly and I should remove shim. What shim? I do not have my cleat shimmed out. I have owned several pairs of the Candy 2's. I won't be buying from Crank Brothers again.

First clip in peddles and very impressed
These are my first clip in peddles and appart from a few comedy falls whilst forgetting to unclip it has been hugely sucessfull. The cleets (which actually come with the peddles) are easy to install. The hardest thing about installing the peddles was actually removing the old ones!I commute using these peddles everyday and have to admit that it certainly helps me maintain a steady pace. They look great. They work great. I love them.Lets see how long they last as I am hard on all my bike equipment.
