For a hot climate is the cool mesh really that much better? I got the Omni before the cool mesh came out and now feel regret :(

We live in Texas and I used this carrier this weekend (80s-mid 90s) and it was a sweaty mess for both of us. I ended up ditching the carrier in the truck and just carrying her on my hip. I’ll let you know when the weather is in the 70s if it’s any better :/ Super comfortable though, she did nap in it when we ducked into an air conditioned shop. The cross strap carry I find distributes the weight the best.

How do I know if the Ergobaby carrier I am buying is real and not a counterfeit?

This is the baby carrier I bought. I didn't know they made counterfeit ergobaby carriers. Mine can with the correct box and all warranty paperwork. If you buy a fake anything the box is usually a huge way to tell. But also if the materials look cheap or it's not well made that's also a huge indicator. I can tell you this seller is selling real ergobaby products and mine lasted well over a year with everyday use.

Advice on color choice? I cant decide. Worried grey color may stain. Black shows lint and spit up? Black hotter in summertime? Help me choose.

It's easy to wash. Don't worry about stains. I recommend a big garment bag to keep it from flailing everywhere. Get the grey, stays cooler in the hot car and it goes with more clothes without instantly clashing. We love ours. I also recommend getting the spit guards for the face area. Babies drool. Saves having to wash it after a long outing. Cheers!
