Moving, Heavy, and Hopeful
The human trafficking subject matter is very difficult and tragically sad. This movie was well done and handles this subject with the seriousness it deserves and requires while demonstrating how easy it is for each one of us to justify our decisions. The movie also shines a spotlight on the "voice inside us", our conscience gnawing at us, when we partake in justifying the wrong decision. I appreciate that it offers redemption and hope which is more than encouraging. I also appreciate that it is not too graphic so that the PG-13 audience can see this movie. It is obvious what is happening behind closed doors, and, yet, prime-time tv gives us more graphic scenes.I feel that our younger teenage boys, who will all too soon be young men, benefitted from seeing this movie. To put things in perspective, a show like Criminal Minds is much more gruesome and graphic in all ways than this movie. This movie treated characters with respect and it opened up conversations with my sons. They shared situations their friends talked about and I don't think they would've discussed those without seeing the movie. I was grateful how open they were after seeing this movie with me. It was reassuring to remind them how important each and everyone of us is and that none of us is property for another's use or pleasure. The main character, James, is a tough kind of guy who spoke volumes that I could not have spoken, nor could have my husband, to my sons. It has not ever been lost on me that many men perpetuate this problem by being customers. I knew of men who traveled to other countries to partake in prostitution. The acting was sincere and believable. The only parts that were a bit glossed over were Antonia's emotional responses to her pain. In fairness, the movie was not long enough to fully detail her pain. She was strong and it was evident that her faith and love for her sister kept her going. James' fatherhood, in a complex way, clashed into the "voice inside him" and it was beautiful how his being a father helped him to face his decisions and see them in a different light. I also appreciate how the hotel owner held James accountable.I am glad I saw this movie. I am even more glad that it was made. Thank you. I am also very happy that at the end of the movie we are given resources to look into so that we can find our own ways to combat this tragic problem. Because of this movie, I discovered eyeheartworld. No matter anyone's opinion on "the oldest trade in the world", it cannot be disputed that any form of slavery is intolerable. It strikes me as even worse in our country based on our US history. We do not know enough about this problem in our vast country. I appreciate this movie as a beginning of a much larger spotlight on this tragic issue.

Not at all what I expected.
Wow, for a movie I wanted to switch off as soon as I realized that man was trafficking girls across the border , it turned out to be something that provided me hope. Im not just a customer watching a movie. I am a child who survived childhood sexual and physical abuse and rape and domestic abuse as an adult. I try to tell other girls that they aren't trash, but somehow I seemed to still believe that I am as worthless as the trash men throw away in the trashcan . As a Christian woman I tell myself and other people ,man woman or child , that we are all precious to God, but I just felt like that somehow applied to everyone else. This movie really hit home . Offering the trafficker a chance to repent reminded me that sexual sin and abuse is not only devastating for the victim, but also devastating for the men and women who turn their own abuse into victimizing others. Me too movement makes no opportunity for the victimizer to come to terms with and ask for forgiveness. It only causes the perp to hide deeper into the Pit of Hell. What a great movie that shows the real disparity between good and evil. Glad this movement and movie will help more good to prevail . Our battles are against ideals...same man different name....we need to change the notions that it is ok to allow evil to take up residence in our mind and spirit....it's a slippery slope if we don't. Sorry not trying to be preachy, just wanted to share from a real survivor.

Priceless
Great Movie!!! I watched this movie, read some reviews, and I cannot put a price on this move. It is truly "PRICELESS!" I reveals the "ugly" in Humanity and at the same time reveal the possibilities that can be reach when "Love" is involved. God is Love and is set on redeeming His good creation one person at a time. This "Movie" got it Right! Human being must take responsibility, even when we don't know what to do in crisis. Forget the opinions of God out there that ask the ignorant questions like, "If God is Love then why...XYZ?," Humans make the problems in this world by uncontrolled self-will actions, even to the point of hurting and destroying other human beings.Again, this "Movie" got it Right! God did not cause wrong or chaos, but God's carefully orchestrated interventions through "Love" for one another it is substance or glue that compels us to fight for justice. Justice for the oppressed (women, children, and men) in this world. Religion has nothing to do with a "Just God" righting the wrongs through His creation. No one is religious in this movie, but they know and understand "Love." Religion separates and sometime judges who is worthy, those within verses those outside the set religious boundaries.True Faith in God no matter the non religious/religious beliefs seeks justice for all. That is what this movie is all about, Justice for the Human Race. When we truly understand what "Love" is it crosses set boundaries and penetrates the heart. It breathes new hope to hopeless situations, manifests itself in a new life, and a new way of thinking.IT's PRICELESS!!!
