As these type of thermometers go, these are excellent. I won't go over the cons of these thermometers in general (getting it in the right place, getting an accurate reading of the actual grate/surface temperature, etc), as all of these have their limitations. That said, here's what I like: 1) Installation was a breeze. I matched a drill bit to the post of the thermometer, drilled a hole and popped it in. Easy as can be. 2) Really love the colors. This is not a matter of aesthetics as much as it is helpful in making the thermometer easy to read. 3) Storms have hit my area hard and this has been on an uncovered grill. It has no signs of water entry. 4) In terms of accuracy, It is within 1-2 degrees of my digital thermometer when it is placed in the same location. The differential could be due to either thermometer, but for my purposes, 1-2 degrees is plenty accurate. 5) Finally, the two-pack is an excellent value. Highly recommended for your home grill build or replacement for an existing thermometer.

Realistic temp range makes these easier to read. Who works a grill/ smoker at 1000 degrees anyway!?!
