Finally Relief !!!!
Hi, This book has been the most useful book I've ever read. First off, 2 years ago I ended up in the hospital for 4 days, not being able to catch my breath. The long four day stay was to check my heart, which was fine, of course. I am 55 years old, 191 lbs. (not that age means anything). During the hospital stay, The nurse asked me if I had heartburn, I said not that I know of, and they did not treat me for heartburn. I did not have heartburn and I have not been diagnosed with LPR but I'm pretty sure I still suffer from LPR. The symptoms noted in this book are very obvious to me. I recently had an endoscopy at the same time I had my 5 year Colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with Gastritis at that time. After I finished reading this book, I began to make several recipes in this book, they are all excellent. My stomach bloat has gone done immensely. I also follow the "rules" that are mentioned in this book to relieve symptoms, like elevating the head when sleeping, not eating for 3 hours before bedtime, eating and chewing slowly. Granted at times, I am not the most perfect at following these eating "rules", but anyone that is trying to lose weight knows that you don't have to be perfect 100% of the time. I have lost 9 lbs so far. I cannot begin to tell you how appreciative and grateful I am for the information that I obtained from reading this book. Thank you so much!

Just what I needed
I've had this book sitting in my house for two years now, and had never used it. I think I was put off by the lack of photos for the recipes. But the other day I was feeling a little desperate to get my eating back on track (derailed by COVID stay-at-home orders, ordering delivery, snacking and feeling generally way too lazy and short of time to cook, and of course plagued by my GERD and a strange nighttime cough that is supposedly asthma, perhaps also caused by my GERD). I take Nexium daily but even still, most days I end up with some reflux. So I happened to notice that all the recipes in this book have only about 4-5 ingredients, and only a couple steps to complete and I thought I'm just going to try it, even if the recipes seem like they might be bland. Right now I just need EASY. I am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. I've cooked a couple things from it, all were good, simple meals. I really enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Ground Chicken where you saute basil and ginger together and then add ground chicken, and serve on top of rice. I sprinkled dry roasted unsalted peanut crumbs as a final embellishment, along with adding a little pile of sushi ginger on the side. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and looked forward to my leftovers. Following the foods to avoid and to eat, I haven't had any reflux for 3 days now (even with my daily espresso, since I switched from Half n Half to milk, as suggested in the book). And I'm also down 2 pounds already (in 3 days). Which is great, since I need to chip away at the "COVID-19" that I gained over the past few months. And I will add that YES, it IS really basic, and YES if I wasn't so rushed, I could think of some basic stuff to cook, but this is just what I needed.

Glad I bought this!
I purchased this book when I was dealing with severe gastritis (literal chemical burns from an antibiotic) and now, my stomach is completely healed and I can scarf a whole pizza, but! I use this when I want delicious recipes that are easy on my stomach. I do still get acid on occasion (not severe) and everything in here is A+

A book to read if you have a Hiatus hernia or reflux.
I was diagnosed with a Hiatus hernia a few months ago, and decided to check out the internet for advice on a suitable diet as I did not want to go down the medication trail. Luckily I found this book not only have some of my symptoms improved, some are almost gone completely. And on top of that I have lost "23lbs" If you have a problem with reflux or find you have a Hiatus hernia it is well worth reading this book.

Waste of money
Having read The Acid Watcher Diet by Dr Jonathan Aviv, this book was a real disappointment. The recipes are simple, plain dishes - which doesn't take much thought to put together on your own. Don't bother with this book, get The Acid Watcher Diet instead, IT really does help acid reflux and gives you the tools to put together your own recipes.

A useful little book
I found this book very helpful. The recipes are pretty basic but if you are suffering they are a good start. The advice regarding stress and other causes was a useful reminder to address all areas of life to get stomach problems under control. A friendly little book to add to a collection.

Disappointing waste of money
I bought this book for the recipes, it is after all called a 'cookbook' but the recipes are laughable. You look at the contents page and there might be a recipe titled 'Chicken and Thyme', when you go to the page the ingredients are literally chicken and thyme and nothing else! I could have worked this out for myself! I've not used the book at all. I don't understand why it has such high reviews?!
