Solid Methods Book - Simple, Straightforward, Concise.
Some people like to talk trash on this book, but let me tell you something. GARY KREPS knows what the hell he is talking about. Kreps aka Kreperino aka The Krepman aka Biggie Kreps keeps it real and keeps it concise in this book. It provides some pretty decent examples and explains things in a straightforward manner. Would definitely recommend this book for any grad level methods class. Also Kreps is a cool dude. If you ever see Kreps tell him ole Reggie Thistleton says Hello.

Outdated
I purchased this book for a class, and much of the information is pretty vague and outdated

Used but still good quality
I ordered this for my online class. It came within a couple of days. The book is still well put together and the highlighting from past users is also very helpful. Definitely good to rent this book rather than paying full price to buy it. I recommend this if you are taking a class that needs this book.

Time to move on...
For Practitioners and Novice Researchers:The book is marginal as a tool for practitioners or novice researchers. If you are actively investigating potential social science research methodologies, look elsewhere. There is nothing of substance in this book that is not publicly published elsewhere for free. As a practical guide for novice researchers, the authors do an acceptable job covering the basics of social science research methods, but for the price, you would be better served elsewhere. Of course, we all know this book isn't written for professionals or active researchers. For Students:Sorry, you have no choice but to purchase this book, regardless of price or function. You might question your professor if this book is truly mandatory given what it is and the price being charged. Best of luck with your studies! For Professors:The authors, Carl Botan, Gary Kreps, and Lawrence Frey and Pearson are clearly and unethically conspiring to exploit students with this publication. Their unscrupulous business practice of setting prices exorbitantly high, producing superfluous editions regardless of need, and charging close to $200 per student for access to rehashed research methods and citations of other's work (much of it from publicly funded research) is financial exploitation. While it may be convenient for us to force students to purchase it, in doing so we too become accessories to profiteering. Consider if it is truly worth selling out your academic integrity by continuing to allow Botan, Kreps, Frey and Pearson to fleece future generations of students for their own financial gain. For myself, I've decided enough is enough.

School Book
I chose it because it was a required book for class. It's not too hard to read, but it is just a school book.
