The finish on these dishes is rough, not smooth as advertised. I purchased two sets, and if I didn't know better, I would suspect one of the sets was a return, as the quality of the set was noticeably worse than the other set, which was bad enough. One dinner plate has chips on the underside edge and practically every piece of the two sets has roughness. The bowls are particularly bad. The roughness is on both sides of all of the pieces. I have washed them and used a sponge but they are all still rough. They are lightweight but in this instance that's not necessarily a good thing as it makes them feel even more cheap. I would not even consider buying these again.

The bear dishes exactly as picture. Using them I. Our mountain air B&B to delight the younger crowd. Helps cut down on breakage to adult set of dishes. Love two sizes of plates and bowls that are actually big enough!
