This product looked promising. It is the only can holder I've seen that doesn't use the bail to hold the can, inserting the brush with the bail in the way is a PITA.Today I stained to 16-feet and used this on my 40 YO combo step/extension ladder. The label says fits ALL extension ladders. I had to precision craft a spacer with a hand axe and box knife to get this to not tilt, see photos. It held the half-full gallon can successfully if not inspiring complete confidence.Get's worse: I have a 24' Werner extension ladder, tried the Sidekick on the upper portion. Loose just like the previous ladder and the safety pin won't get past the flange. Clearly this product was designed for a limited set of ladders or at least we can hope it works on something.Got this on eBay to avoid Amazon's glacial shipping and $49 minimum.The first photo show the tilt w/o the spacer installed (spacer sitting on the can) and the second with spacer installed. I would have preferred putting the spacer on the opposite side but a pair of plastic protrusion prevent this as well as the safety pin would have interfered with the can.

Not only is it great for ladders, the paint can attachment is great for doing touch up at any heights. Would love to be able to buy more of them without the ladder piece.

I should of listen to the other view, i needed this to finish a painting job for the weekend, arrived today friday and upon opening the box only to find the cheap red can holder with out the main can holder item.

This neat item helped me to paint my entire house. It held the cans of paint freeing my hands to do the work.

The brush holder is very handy, and the can doesn't get messy.
