I know I have some Coyotes that live about a half mile from my fenced in yard. I can hear them howling at night. Bought this for my little Chihuahua to keep him safe. It’s made very well. Tough fabric. Looks mean on my little guy. Fits him great.

I first discovered these coyote vests after my 10 pound dog was attacked, and miraculously survived a coyote attack. I quickly bought two of them to help restore my peace of mind while taking my dogs out after the attack. When they first arrived I was worried the dogs would be uncomfortable in them since they looked a little stiff, probably due to the stab resistant material, but when I put them on, the dogs showed absolutely no discomfort and very quickly began to associate them with walks and now get excited whenever I pull them out. They also look absolutely adorable in them, although I would have loved more color options. The spikes are removable, and you can even move them around on different parts of the vest plus there’s room for other additions to it. Their online sizing guide is very accurate, for reference my 10 pound dog wears a small and my 16 pound dogs wears a medium. If you have a small dog and you take them outside, especially at night, get them one of these vests! The price point may seem high at first, but I promise it’s worth it. It is nothing compared to the cost of the emergency care needed after a coyote attack. Also, you can tell the vests are high quality and well-designed. I’ve had zero issues with them so far and they function like a regular harness during walks. I’m so grateful a product like this exists and I feel safe walking my dogs outside again. I live in an area largely populated by both coyotes and hawks. I first purchased the coyotevest spike vest, the difference being the spike vest has Velcro closure instead of buckles. My 8lb Pomeranian mix is oddly shaped, went with the xs- fit great except the neck is a bit high which bothered her. Ultimately the Velcro freaked her out (I think her fur got caught), after this she refused to wear it again. I reached out to coyotevest and they immediately issued a refund. I then purchased the coyote vest with buckles (xs), I ended up returning this one too as I believe her initial experience with the first one set the tone for any future Coyote vests for her but I must say the customer service that I received was by the the best I’ve ever received from an Amazon seller. We went back and forth via email trying to figure out ways to make her comfortable with the vest. They gave me tips, were so kind and understanding and Pamela even called me but I missed the call, this is a company that has your pets best interest at heart. The product itself is top quality, the Velcro was exceptional quality and it fit her so perfectly snug, I wish she wasn’t freaked out by it. The buckle vest is equally beautifully crafted. It’s surprisingly light weight, which I expected because the spikes are plastic but I thought it would still have some weight but amazingly not. The inside is lined to be soft and comfortable, the neck is stiff but as stated “like a good pair of boots needs broken in” I was just never able to get her to break it in. Overall I truly believe anyone with a small dog especially but in areas with predators whether coyote/ hawks/eagles etc… I think everyone should own one. Keep in mind it will also protect against aggressive dogs, it’s literally for everyone. You can’t put a price on peace of mind, I’m saddened that my stubborn little girl refused it. Luckily she has very limited outdoor time due to severe allergies and I work from home so she’s never alone and we have vigorous playtime throughout the day for exercise but the vest would’ve made me feel better when we’re in the yard. I will continue standing beside her acting as her personal body guard. The last thing I’ll add about this product is that aesthetically; it’s punk asf, if it fit me I totally would’ve rocked it. Who of us wants to know how well this really works? To know means our fur-baby has been attacked. I live in the mountains of Colorado and walk with my pup each morning. In my area, we have bobcat, coyote, bear, fox and raptors. This coat makes me feel less anxious about Opie off-leash. I don’t allow him to get too far away and feel like this coat buys me some time …I am on high alert while we walk. Opie has a coat that he wears in the cold and so putting this on him didn’t bother him at all. I feel like the coat is high quality. One thing on which improvement could be made is the Velcro closing. Opie is long-haired and the first couple of times I put this on him, I didn’t pay attention to making sure his hair was tucked in and so it really pulled when I removed the coat. He has a PFD (life vest) for when we are on the kayak and it has pinch-clip closures which work great - I’d like to see that closure on this coat, thus the 4-star rating. Opie is 12lbs and I got a small which fits as expected

I would highly recommend this coyote vest to anyone who would like to feel a bit more comfortable when you have high energy dogs. It fits comfortably and does not get in the way of a free flow run in the hills. Gibson is able to as well play freely without harm to his best big buddies at 60 and 90 pounds. Thank you to whoever was kind enough to think of this incredible product. Though we are always aware and stay as safe as we can, Gibson and I now feel even safer. Es ultra ligero. Los materiales de calidad superior. Solo que las medidas de la tabla en las imagenes del producto no coinciden tanto. Mi perro es cocker spaniel y apenas entró en el mediano con expander en la parte del pecho. Si tu perro está al límite de dos medidas, yo elegiría el más grande.

Very happy with the purchase. My little tiny chihuahua Percy has no problem wearing the vest. We have hawks here, crazy magpies etc .. etc…I hope it helps to protect him.

I bought this coat to protect my dog, he's been attacked before and its an awful (and expensive) experience. With the growing number of backyard, irresponsible breeders/owners I feel many dogs are out of control (through no fault of their own). The rising trend of specific breeds in my area is a massive worry, couple that with idiot owners it's a recipe for disaster! The spikes aren't sharp, but I imagine a very uncomfortable experience if another dog tries to chomp on mine. I've recieved mixed feedback about this coat from the wider public- if you don't like it keep your dog on a lead and get it trained!!!! It's sad that responsible dog owners need to go to such lengths to keep their dog safe and to be able to enjoy owning a dog without fear of it being shredded to pieces. I'm really pleased with this product, it's very lightweight but tough. It fits snuggly with room to spare, the velcro is strong and on the correct side so as not to rip his fur out! I've removed the collar due to my dog having a thick ruff. My dog only wears this when other dogs are off-lead for his own protection. Well worth the money and excellent quality, I imagine this could last many years.

Achetée avec le lot de 4 protections de poils nylon pour mettre dessus. Superbe veste, solide . Mon coton de 4 moisavait été repéré par un milan de très grande envergure. Je peux maintenant le laisser sortir sans stresser. La veste est très bien faite , légère, et ne gêne pas du tout mon chien.

I got the x-small originally but I decided to get a small in yellow and add the extra velcro spikes to this one. Max is between a regular and a mini dachshund so for better length definitely go with small size. Also the yellow has an extra row of spikes at the neck which covers his neck much better, something to consider. Overall very happy with this :)
