Bien

Great set!
2021 Mattel Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Kenji & Monolophosaurus We saw the action figure debut of Kenji as part of the Scorpios Rex Danger Pack a few months ago. This new human & dinosaur pack is a straight repack of that figure. That said, Kenji is a great figure! Mattel nailed his likeness perfectly. The new addition to Kenji is the inclusion of a pretty awesome scooter accessory. In the show, the kids find several Segway scooters. Apparently, Mattel was unable to acquire the license to make Segways, and opted for a generic scooter instead. Normally, something like that would be a negative, but the playability and posability the scooter offers is well beyond what a Segway could offer. The scooter is capable of free standing, even with Kenji attached. (It does take time to get the balance just right if Kenji is on it, however.) I was even able to get Kenji to stand on one leg using the scooter as a counter balance! The wheels actually roll as well, so it is also functional. The included Monolophosaurus is a great figure as well. This Monolophosaurus is a heavily retooled, and re-sculpted version of the previous Monolophosaurs figures. This Monolophosaurus is basically a “Wild Pack” version, having the action gimmick removed. The lack of an action feature has made this figure far better balanced than the other versions, which is a huge plus. The main body sculpt is identical to the others, albeit slightly reduced in size. The neck is mostly the same as well, but does have larger spikes down the back. The major change is to the head. The crest is completely re-sculpted to fit the dinosaur’s appearance in the animated series. The teeth are also much larger than the original sculpt, and that is the only complaint I have. The teeth are ridiculously large. I really do not understand why the teeth were increased in size, because the original teeth were already a bit on the large side. The coloration is really nice on this one. I love the dark body color, and how it contrasts with the counter shading on the belly, and the mottling on the face and back. I would have liked to see the mottling and counter shading continue down onto the tail, but the amount of both is an improvement over some of Mattel’s more recent offerings. My particular figure suffers from a few application issues. The eyes are decent, but are not perfectly aligned. I have seen far worse, however. A few teeth have some paint chipping, and the crest has a few splotches of foreign paint on the left side of mine as well. Articulations are the standard for recent “Wild/Attack Pack” figures. The arms and legs move forward and back. The tail rotates. The neck can move up and down, as well as rotating. The jaw is also fully articulated. These last two articulations are a vast improvement over the previous Monolophosaurus figures. Kenji is great, especially if you do not have the Scorpios pack, and the Monolophosaurus has excellent posability and a great coloration. The scooter is a much more impressive accessory than I thought it would be too. This is another impressive addition to the Camp Cretaceous lineup!
