Works as stated in the Amazon ad. I changed the stings on my Fender Strat without any problems. I loaded this tool into my cordless drill and this tool did all the turning of the tuning machines for me. No more twisting by hand. Highly Recommend!!

I like this product very much... This tool does exactly what the Amazon description promised and more. It fits my electric screwdriver perfectly, and changing strings has never been easier or faster. The build feels sturdy, and it saves me both time and effort every time I restring. Simple, effective, and works like a dream—highly recommended!

5-star, as expected from MusicNomad. Small (so it gets into tight spaces when changing strings), soft rubber-like lining (doesn't scratch), fits quick change drills (be sure to use a variable-speed drill so the winding speed won't get away from you), stores easily, fits a variety of different sized thumb tuners (mine are butterbean), the rubber-like material on the inside doesn't slip off of the tuners, great price! I don't like the blue color they use on their products (I know, who cares?), but their products are all high quality and reasonably priced.

I'm a professional guitar technician, and manage a shop of guitar technicians, and I've tried at least 6 different versions of these screwdriver-chuck peg winders from as many different manufacturers over the last decade-and-a-half. Hands-down, this one is the best one. Where it stands head-and-shoulders above the competition is the material from which it's constructed; I've never seen a peg-winder made of this softer plastic, as they are usually a harder plastic. This means that this peg-winder won't mar or scratch your tuning machines. This is the ONLY peg-winder I've ever seen where, after a couple months of heavy use (working on approximately 20 guitars a day, 5 days a week), you can still use it to tune up a set of satin black tuning machines without leaving slight marks on the keys. The downside is that this is less durable, but the average person would never realize as the durability is still fantastic for any consumer. If you are a pro working on dozens upon dozens of guitars a week, you may have to replace it every season/half-year/year etc. as your needs dictate, but I guarantee that you'll appreciate how delicately this tool treats your tuning machine keys. Of course, when you use this in a screwdriver, be sure you gear down the torque settings to keep your machines in awesome condition. Update September 18, 2017: The peg-winders are still holding up after about 4 months of "industrial"-level use. While they are beginning to display signs of wear of the plastic surface and are beginning to look a little dirty on the interior faces, they still function perfectly and still are leaving tuning machines mark-free. They are even more durable than I initially estimated, I believe. I've since invested in upgrading every technician's bench to this peg-winder, as other folks had been using older harder-plastic ones that could sometimes scratch tuning keys. Update July 2018: All the peg winders are still going strong while being gentle on tuning keys! In the interim period, I've also verified that these work on cylindrical tuning buttons (provided they don't have a ridiculously thin diameter), specifically the optional Industrial SK1 tuning buttons by Hipshot. Update March 2019: This will likely be my last update for this particular review. Long story short: My opinion that these are the best peg winders is unchanged. I have only had to replace one peg winder for my crew during the nearly 2 years we've been using 'em, and that particular winder was still functioning when retired (it was LOOKING rather raggedy, but still worked and still didn't leave marks on tuning machines; It was swapped out simply for the sake of professionalism). These things are awesome! Haven't yet received a defective one. Haven't yet had one break on me or any member of my crew. Don't waste your time on any other variants of this gizmo, as this is the Real McCoy.

Easy-to-use good quality

This is a good piece for your guitar needs. I didn't want to buy a specific drill/gun/tool for turning machine heads. A lot of people already have a drill so this is a nice piece for a right angle drill if you have one But a regular corded or wireless drill will do just fine. it is so much faster and easier than the hand wound/manual winders. To all who have a guitar player friend or family member this is a great gift or stocking stuffer. It arrived earlier than the projected arrival time.

I don’t know why I didn’t buy one sooner. Makes restringing fast and easy. This is really the way to go. So worth it!

I wish I had bought one of these years ago. It makes string changes so much more efficient and less tedious than a manual winder. Maybe the best $10 I ever spent on music related gear other than a string action gauge for setups. Of course you'll need an electric screwdriver to go with it, but I'd guess that if you are stringing your guitars, you are also fixing other things that would benefit from a cordless electric screwdriver. I find it works best with my Black and Decker gyro activated screwdriver, which allows me to vary the speed just by wrist motion. It's so much easier to hold tension on the string with one hand, and quickly wind it using the electric screwdriver in the other, than it is with a traditional manual winder.

After an extremely frustrating experience with 2 x purpose-built electric string winders, not holding their battery charge, it was great to receive the Music Nomad drill bit winder in the mail. Teamed up with a light, electric screwdriver, it works a treat! Highly recommended, especially if you have multiple guitars. It will save you a lot of time.

Material de ótima qualidade. O fato de ser emborrachado traz um diferencial grande em relação aos similares encontrados no mercado pois o torna mais silencioso. Só o usei em violão, mas pela largura estreita parece servir em todos os outros instrumentos de corda. Estou bastante satisfeito e super recomendo!

Now you can pretend you’re a member of a Formula One pit crew AND change strings in record time. What’s not to love? The Music Nomad winders are the best, the blue rubber is firm but doesn’t mark your machinehead buttons. They’re compact but seem to fit everything. I have the manual version too with the excellent string cutters, the rubber winder part is the same on both. Music Nomad stuff is a bit pricey but always well designed and made. If you’re looking for a string winder drill bit just buy this one.
