It contributes to the thermal barrier. It’s cold outside. I work at a hardware & supply store. I pump propane and kerosene in 20° weather! It’s cold outside and I wear like five layers! This is one of them. Jerseys makes good products. They’re a little heavier weight, solid construction at a good price you can’t go wrong
