Very warm, thicker than a regular balaclava. It is fleece lined. Easy to put on and take off. Really good at resisting the wind. I have a very large head (3XL in a motorcycle helmet) and fits really well, I stretch it a little bit but still very comfy. I wear it no problem in a motorcycle helmet, makes the helmet a little tight but doesn't hurt the head. I rode with it on in my helmet for about 2 hours without any major discomfort.
