Very strong, be very careful where you place on certain iron surfaces can be very hard to remove, I use it to hold my lunch box up, works extremely well.

It is so strong that I have trouble getting some things off of it.

Pretty nice quality magnet fishing kit. The rope length is just the right length for the weight of the magnet. The eye bolts and washers are made of quality steel. I set my magnet up for dragging along the bottom on it's side and the kit came with a bottle of thread-locker which I used to secure a provided threaded eye bolt in it's hole in the magnet. The carabiners are magnetic and I didn't want them snagging obstructions or sticking to the magnet so I left them out of my magnet fishing system. The first magnet fishing outing, two of the items it brought up were hefty pieces of steel weighing 3 lbs and 7.5 lbs. Thick rebar at 3 lbs and heavy plate steel at 7.5 lbs. I'd buy this kit again.

Not sure how they rate these but no way this thing is close to 2000lbs. Did get it stuck to a bridge and hand to pry it off with tools.No real tressure yet but hopeful

I ordered two of these magnets for my kids to do some magnet fishing in the local creek. One arrived fine. The other arrived in a separate, undamaged box but has a crack across the top and is scuffed as if it’s been used. Of course, in the process of contacting to make a return my kids decided to take their new magnets to the creek and use them so I don’t feel right processing a return at this point. Not sure how long they’ll last, but when I need to replace them I’ll find something better quality.

Have not had a chance to try out magnet, it appears be good quality. Hopefully will get chance try out when I get go magnet fishing, will then know the value of the magnet....UPDATE...I got to try this magnet and honestly, I am not impressed. I have a Beast double sided 1,000lb and it feels stronger than this magnet. Maybe its just me, but as heavy as this magnet is, I thought it would be alot stronger, even my kids 1200lb double sided magnets feel stronger...but for the price, seems be a good starter magnet
