My usual supplier was behind on restocking grow bags, so I recently decided to try something different - I saw the Sojourner grow bags and decided to give it a go for my gourmet mushroom growing, and I have to say, I'm beyond impressed with their performance. Seems like a good product at a great price. Only issue is that they are shipped in plastic and the outside three bags had damage from shipping.

I’ve be using these bags for a while now, I would have given 5 stars, but they recently changed the bag thickness, making it much more difficult to seal, and causing me to turn up the heat on my sealer almost to max heat. Happy to change my review, if they go back to their old thickness. I’d still recommend them, but the not sealing is an issue that wasn’t present before.- edit: I like the new thickness just took me a second to get it sorted!

Been through five so far and had a little melting/warping after sterilization at 15psi for 2.5 hours, didn't appear to be too out of the ordinary and it didn't seem to affect the integrity of the bag. I put my grain in and sealed them up with a double seal and really worked the grain into my substrate, it held up quite well. I didn't notice any leaks and they look good so far. I have to say these sealed up much better than the ones I bought from my mushroom shop. I will see how the others go, but so far I would buy again.

poor quality. Despite being 6 mil thick, these bags are of poor quality. The plastic becomes brittle after pressure sterilization, and the filter patch is more porous than Unicorn bags 0.2 micron patches. I used all 50 of these and the vast majority of them failed to last all the way to full colonization. I have since switched to using Unicorn bags, which have been far more reliable.

It looked decent but when I went to sterilize in the pressure cooker the bag came out all warped and sort of “melted”. It definitely did not hold its shape and that made it impossible to deal with my impact sealer. EDIT: seller reached out to me after my review and refunded me the full amount. They apologized for it not working out for me and said good or bad they wanted to know and appreciate customer reviews. They did not ask me to edit or remove my review. I appreciate a business like this who actually cares about the customer. It didn’t work out for me but I’m sure it works great for others.

I grow gourmet mushrooms. This is great for the bag tek. The size the thickness the sturdiness and functionality is the best part.
