Worth the price! Color and Health
This cost more then my previous food so I was leery. I have no idea on size and bought 2mm. Will need larger for my big boy. "Cheddar" is a 5yr old blood orange cichlid and usually has a white or pale orange look. This food however is worth the price. HIS COLOR!! Fabulous! All fish in this tank and my African cichlid tank seem healthier.

They really are 2 mm updated
My 29-gallon tank has seven 1.5 inch Clown Loaches, two 1" Golden Severum and three Silver Dollars, about 2". I feed them Cichlid Crisps and, for the bottom-feeding Clown Loaches, sinking pellets. The video reviews for this brand have been glowing. I bought my first NorthFin pellets. Hoping for a clearer tank and faster growth with "graduation" to my larger tank. First impressions. The bag is clearly labeed as to size (2mm) and SLOWLY SINKING. They are just a tad under 2 mm in diameter, as the photo shows: 10 pellets in 20 mm. They fall to the substrate in a few seconds, NOT slow, but not a problem. There is no mad rush to eat them. At $1.70 per ounce, the cost is OK Wish it had come in a jar.. Be back in a month with an update. UPDATE: Many months later, it is now the second food (after the Cichlid Crisps, then as a treat some freeze-dried worms) ). I now use it in both tanks, in the 3 mm size. My next order will be the 500 gram bag: twice as much for only 50 percent more. I pour the bag's contents into small jars for easier dispensing. Good food.

Great Fish Food
I've tried numerous fish foods over the years, but Northfin Fish Food Cichlid Formula Slow Sinking Pellets truly stands out from the crowd. My cichlids have never looked healthier or more vibrant since I made the switch to this exceptional product. Firstly, I appreciate the high-quality ingredients used in this formula. It's evident that Northfin prioritizes the health and well-being of aquatic life, as every pellet is packed with essential nutrients and proteins to support optimal growth and coloration. What sets these pellets apart is their slow-sinking nature. This feature allows all my cichlids, regardless of size or swimming abilities, to enjoy a balanced diet without competition or waste. Plus, it mimics the natural feeding behavior of cichlids, promoting a more natural and enriching feeding experience. Another highlight is the minimal waste produced by these pellets. Unlike some other brands that leave behind residue, Northfin pellets are highly digestible, ensuring maximum nutrient absorption and minimal impact on water quality. This means less time spent on maintenance and more time enjoying my aquarium. Moreover, I'm impressed by the consistency of the pellet size and texture. It makes feeding a breeze and ensures that each fish receives the appropriate portion size without any hassle. Overall, Northfin Fish Food Cichlid Formula Slow Sinking Pellets has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From its premium ingredients to its thoughtful design, this product has earned its rightful place as a staple in my cichlid tank. I highly recommend it to any aquarist looking to provide their cichlids with top-notch nutrition and care.

My go to cichlid pellets
Everyone has their preferred food for their fish but if your looking for a change or recommendation for something new you cant go wrong with northfin. They use quality ingredients and they use montmorillonite clay which i feel is an important ingredient for digestion. I used to add it separately until i switched to this food. I have african cichlids and i buy the cichlid formula, krill pro and veggie and mix them together. This is just my person opinion but in the fish keeping world this brand is at or near the very top

What are you looking for?
Seriously this is fish food, I put it in the tank and my fish eat it. I have been using it for years on my African Cichlid tanks and it seems to work so I keep coming back. Unlike my kid these guys never complain about eating the same thing over and over every day for years on end. My kid on the other hand, man we had broccoli last mont and we already have to eat it again, I don't like food that isn't beige. You know what this food is actually about the right color for my kid to eat, it smells kind of like old shrimp mixed with dead fish, but he might like it. No green, no yellow, just a brownish pellet. Come to think of it this is pretty much like the chicken nuggets of fish foods. Fish eat it, they grow bigger, and once they are adults they like it from time to time to. It rekindles their sense of youth and wonder, a time when things were simpler.

My Oscars and My Convict Cichlids LOVE This Food
I feed this food to my Oscars and Convict Cichlids, and have only been using it temporarily for a few weeks to replace my usual fish food - New Life Spectrum - which I couldn't afford, and this was a little cheaper. Turns out, my fish seem to like this BETTER than their old diet on New Life Spectrum! The pellets are not very large, perfect for the convict cichlids. My Oscars are still small so it will work for them until they get larger, then I will have to upgrade the pellet size for them. But it smells good, and my fish seem to really enjoy it and thrive on it, so I think I'm just going to switch to this fish food. Therefore, I want to highly recommend this particular cichlid food for your fish, too!

Garbage
All of my fish, Severum, Convict, other cichlids (you name it), barbs hate it, and I cannot return it. Well done! You deserve a huge praise for selling a product weighing a pound and not accepting returns. Why? Slow sinking, you are kidding, right?
