Summer Flounder (Fluke) Can't Resist Them!
Summer Flounder (Fluke) love these. First I take 20lb fluorocarbon leader material and tie a surgeons loop at the end of the line, I will put a Pink Spro Bucktail on that loop, then about a 12 inches or so upward I tie a dropper loop tipped with 3/0 Gamakatsu Baitholder Hook with no teaser. I then tip the Bucktail and the Gamakatsu hook with a New Penny saltwater jerk shad. I use this rig to pull up monster Fluke. In my opinion the best color is New Penny Fluke can't resist them. The size of the bucktail depends on the water conditions you might need a 3oz bucktail to hold bottom, but generally i use a 2 oz bucktail. When jigging with this rig rapidly bounce the bucktail on the bottom then let the bucktail rest on the bottom for 5 seconds then I start the process over again, you want to make sure you keep your line as vertical as possible don't let your line drift out too far if you are on a charter/party boat.
