Dell Inspiron 3515 15.6" FHD Laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Windows 11 Home (Carbon Black)

Great bargain. I 1yr old refurbished from amazon warehouse. Discounted over £200 due to cosmetic damage which turned out to be almost nothing, just see pics. Machine works tip top and is registered with Dell support who will do a remote diagnostic of all software and hardware online and let you know if you should keep it or return it. The only dislike have about the model I am general is that Dell, due to having a numeric keypad on the keyboard, mouse for an unknowable reason thought that the track pad should be positioned in relation to the keyboard as though the number pad wasn't there. I this mean the touch/track 8.5 cm from the left side of the laptop and 15.5 cm from the right side with the touch pad being 11.5 cm wide. This is a HUGE design floor that is infuriating. What I did to overcome hitting the problem was to place some black tape just off the right sidr of the touch pad so I knew I was about to find it (your fingers can't sense whether it's touching pad or not) then on the pad it's self a __| (mirrored L) so I knew where the bottom left was to right click and to orientate my finger away when looking to left click. This is embarrassing and reeks of insanity, incompetence or both and even though with black tape you can't really see it, my friends mock me relentlessly. I haven't included it in the photos for this reason. But it helped me overnight and took away the only thing I hated, about the pc, not my "mates"... Good laptop, I easy to upgrade, a great price from amazon warehouse and as such, I recommend.

On the whole it's good laptop just not sturdy. The hinges broke after three months & we had to pay £150 to get it repaired.

As experienced by other people, the hinge broke, clearly a fault with this laptop. It matters as you cannot close the lid without it breaking further and losing the screen. The company did not want to know and would not produce the invoice which Dell required to show I had purchased it to be able to repair it. In the end Amazon itself intervened twice to try and get a response, and the invoice, they helped and resolved the matter by sending some repairing funds. I would never recommend buying from this company for obvious reasons. If only they had no stars, dreadful! But well done and thank you Amazon.

This laptop is ideal for what I use a laptop for, namely work emails, documents, spreadsheets etc. It botts quickly and charges fast as well. nice and slim design for porting it around.

I am no computing wizard, but compared to my previous laptop, this is lightning fast! I needed a laptop to take part in an extremely important ZOOM! conference call, and this did what was required perfectly. It was a six hour meeting and this laptop didn't miss a beat! some reviews of this laptop aren't exactly glowing, but it did, and still does, everything I ask of it.

Took a bit of time to get used to Windows 11 but now it is much better than Windows 10. I paid to have professional installation which proved to be very helpful.

Bought 3 years ago. Worked well and fast But late 2025 the lid/hinge mechanism broke. I can see other users have reported this problem. Obviously a manufacturing defect. What are Dell doing to address this? Has put me off buying any other Dell products.

This was purchased to replace my aging HP laptop. All the usual boring setup procedures, and I was impressed by Dell's driver setup as there was a BIOS update .. and they scare the hell out of me, but I found it easy as it was all taken care of automatically ... great! Now I didn't expect too much from the sound quality after reading the other reviews so the tinny sounding speakers were not a disappointment, I suggest wearing ear buds if you want any sort of decent sound from this item. The camera is the huge let down, it is the worst I have ever seen and recording a video using this and the on board microphone is impossible as the video and sound do not sync up when playing back your masterpiece, this may be a glitch with a driver but all the updates have been done ... so I will report back when I get it to work. Using an outboard webcam ( with mic ) solved this problem ie NexiGo N66P. But really DELL this is a deal breaker even for a low budget laptop, I think you dropped the ball here ... but that's just my opinion. Apart from that niggle I think I will come to love this little laptop, it's light and very easy to use so I would in fact recommend this anyway .... we'll see if it is reliable as time goes by.
