I love my Dinghy
I am 37. I skated when I was a teen but was never awesome at it. Recently my kids started skating, and I decided to try it with them. I got a board with super hard, small wheels and it's fun but I realized at my age I probably should be looking in to cruisers / longboards. I want to just cruise around the neighborhood, to local restaurants, you name it. The Dinghy seemed like a perfect fit so I bought one directly from Landyachtz. I adore it!I also bought a Battle Axe (beginner-friendly longboard) at the same time. I love them both for different reasons. The Dinghy is shaped like a regular board, but has wheels that can cruise on grass as easily as on pavement. I can roll over small obstacles (pebbles, bad roads, etc.) without crashing which is great. I would describe the Dinghy as "squirrely" compared to the Battle Axe but there's something about it being so small that makes me feel like picking it up for shorter trips. It's a lot of fun.I'm improving my balance quite a bit. I've eaten pavement a few times (which HURTS when you're old) but I'm getting far better at bailing already. If you're looking to get in to the sport, this is a great complete to do it with. For the price, the level of enjoyment I'm getting out of it is a no-brainer. If I could only have this or the Battle Axe, that'd be a tough call. The Battle Axe is smooth as butter (hard to describe it other than that). But larger and thus more overt if you're going to cruise to a local burger joint or something and take it inside with you. So, for shorter trips the Dinghy wins. For longer sessions, the Battle Axe is supreme.
