These drain plugs are made in Wisconsin and seem to be great quality. Stainless steel and has a very strong magnet. Are they as good as a dimple or gold plug? I don't know first hand, but they are cheaper than Dimples by about $10-15. Is it necessary in all engines? No, but it is peace of mind. Just remember, these take an aluminum NON-REUSEABLE crush washer that needs to be replaced each time. No, you can't use a rubber o-ring instead, even on a low-temp application. A bag of washers through Votex is like $10 and will last awhile.
