So far this battery is AWESOME! The fitment was right on, with very little adjustment needed (just shifting the battery up/down, left/right, and adjusting the lead wires). MacBook powered right up with about 65% on the battery right off the jump! Definitely fits the a1398 model MacBook Pro! Also, the tools that come with this battery make the installation super easy!

Replaced the original apple battery in my 2016 Apple Macbook (intel chip). Perfect fit & running well after installing 1 week ago. Fixed my issue. A great low cost solution for dated hardware. Important: A T3 torx driver is needed for swap, which was not included with kit. Other than that, this battery is recommended. Happy with my purchase. Thank you.

I just want to say that my delivery person deserves a raise. Also since I am here the battery is legit. I had to peel away the cable from the casing as it was glued too far in in order to snap it into place where it needed to be but it definitely is the best non OEM replacement battery and ifixit charges waaaay too much and I have had bad experiences with their batteries.

I've had this battery installed for a couple of weeks now, and it works fine. The installation in my intel 2020 MacBook air was not easy, but most of that is Apple's fault--lots of connectors, tiny screws, and glue. The only complaint I have about this battery is that the connector on the wires was very slightly off. I think there was just slightly too much plastic. I finally got it to fit, but it took a lot more force than the original battery's connector takes to get it to click all the way in. With several charge cycles done, it charges normally and holds the charge as expected. There were no instructions included in the box, but iFixit had a good guide I followed. The tools included were nothing special, but they did the job. I broke the spudger during the process--the plastic is very thin.

I have installed an aftermarket battery in my other Macbook a few years ago from another manufacturer and am very happy with it. I could not find a battery for my new laptop from the same manufacturer so I figured I would try this one. I am beyond disappointed. I should have returned it as soon as I opened the box. It looked like a very cheap attempt to duplicate what it should look like. There were zero instructions. I just youtubed them but the quality of the battery looked very poor. But I had it so I installed it. Right away the first 2 charge cycles it did not last any longer than my 5 year old OEM battery. After the computer relearned the new battery it seemed to be on track to be a good battery. But then while I was working on it and it was clearly around 25%, it completely died. Plugged it in and it was at 0%. Let it charge back up and it seemed to be fine again and lasting a long time, right up until it died in the mid 20% range again. That was all I needed. I looked further and was able to find a batt from the manufacturer that I have been happy with in the past and the first thing I did on the computer when I installed the second new battery was to process the return for this one, and then wrote this review. If it looks like a turd its probably going to be one, I should have known better, but I figured I'd try it. What I got for my trust was having to redo the job twice. No thanks, returning it. Do not buy this one. Plenty of other ones out there, and apparently they are NOT all the same.

Fits, easy to changeout, seems to be a good battery.

The battery is nice. I was able to install it into my MacBook with no problem. The battery will hold it's charge.
