Very fast reliable server drive
This drive is an awesome replacement for the original drive in my Dell Poweredge server. The price was also incredibly reasonable. I ended up buying two so I will be ready when another one of the original drives in my RAID configuration goes out. The original one had been running non-stop 24x7x365 for 8 years straight. I expect this one to perform equally well.

Received very old stock
The listing was for a new SAS HDD, It really should say New Old Stock, with a note about getting old manufacture date drives (I got one that was already 10 years old). But it did work fine and brought the raid array out of degraded in a Dell PowerEdge server. It did come in a Dell caddy which made me think it was a used drive at first, but the seller claims it isn't.

Wrong Desription
The title description say's it's a 2.5" drive when it is actually a 3.5" drive. The item is great the description is bad.

These work wonderfully in an older Dell PowerEdge tower server
The price seemed good for what they are, and I had no problems with installation...offline the failed disk, remove, replace with one of these, fire up Dell OME, rebuild. Installed two of these for a client. Almost the easiest money I've made.

These are probably the most bulletproof mechanical disks on the planet. I've used them for over a decade, and have never had one fail. Ever. I just bought another batch to proactively hot-swap (*) out a bunch that have been in production for more than 5-1/2 years running SQL and other transaction-heavy workloads without missing a beat. And I only replaced them because of their age. They were still running strong with no warnings in the logs.(*) Hot swapped in several production RAID arrays, with zero system downtime. Hot-swap in one new disk, let the array rebuild. Hot-swap another one, let the array rebuild. Lather, rinse, repeat, until the entire array is new disks.

amazon sends out non-new drives
I ordered one of these direct from Amazon at their $167 price as I had heard Yobitech was sometimes selling used drives as new. I needed the drive ASAP for a client's degraded RAID array. It came fast as usual, but when i opened the box I found a Seagate drive stuck in a used and ripped Western Digital static bag. This strongly implies that this drive has already been returned once and it most surely is NOT a new factory Seagate drive. Luckily I did not trust Amazon too much after reading about the Yobitech issues so I have another one ordered from NewEgg that will arrive tomorrow. Needless to say I am not interested in placing this highly questionable drive in a client's critical server. I expect *new* drives of this model probably perform as well as their history shows, but Amazon on the other hand is not performing very well.
