Hi, each light weighs 6.6 lbs. The Lamps Plus Team

It is a very nice "silk" looking fabric. It's got a bit of a sheen to it but not too shiny. I like them.

Yes the are very sturdy. I gave this to my mom for her birthday and she love it. It matches her decor. The only issue I have is with this lamp shade is not as tall as I've expected. I wish they made it a bit taller that would be perfect but over all its nicely made. so just to be sure measure it first before you buy it. Good luck.
