What kind of pen can you use to write on this?

We used a black sharpie marker and it has held up perfect!

I only got one. It’s a hard baseball and not a soft one.

I am wanting to make ink footprints of my babies. Is this a good surface for that purpose or will the ink wipe off?

I bought mine for the same purpose. I just bought a clear coat spray to put over it to be safe. It also makes the ink last longer and not fade over time.
