I got this based on other reviews that said it worked well on dog nails. I have a mixed breed large dog with nails harder and thicker than our great Danes. Using the sanding wheels that came with this, I was able to do her nails much faster than with the other rotary tool.This tool is lightweight and a good size for smaller hands. It does get hot when using it for extended periods but it didn't burn my hands. It does have a safety turn off feature as my dog kicked me and I dropped it onto my shirt which immediate wrapped around the sanding wheel which then stopped without much pressure from my shirt.Noise is a factor. This is much louder than the dog nail trimmers I've been using. It has a high pitch whirring noise. It wouldn't be as annoying if it were a lower pitch noise.For hard thick dog nails, the first setting isn't strong enough. The highest setting works well for taking off length and basic shaping. The middle setting works for more detailed shaping.I don't know how long this tool will hold up, but it seems like a good price for what it is. I'll update more later if it doesn't hold up after the great danes

This is a great little tool. I bought this to keep my dogs' nails trimmed. I get tendinitis from using a full-sized tool, but this is small and lightweight enough I can trim both my dogs without pain. The battery also lasts long enough. The only thing that would have made it better was if it came with its own screwdriver for changing out the sanding disks.

Husband loved this it works great and comes in handy when there's no plug in available! Charges fast and great value for the money!

This is a great little rotary tool. It is lightweight and easy to hold. It is quiet therefore it does not scare my dog. The battery charge has been fine. I have no negative comments regarding this purchase. It is a great addition to my dog's grooming routine

I guess I can't expect something so light and portable to work as well as a plug-in version, but was hoping it had more torque. It does work great for light duty jobs though. I will be keeping it.

I purchased this Dremel to do my dogs nails. It works great! It fits nicely in my hand, very light weight and easy to use its pretty quite as well. I have large dogs so their nails are good size. Files them down very nice. The battery life is great, I can dremel all 3 of my dogs nails and still use it again and not have to charge it for a while.

I waited a month to write this review cause I wanted to make sure the dremels performance stays the same. As a groomer that does 10+ dogs 6 days a week I went thru 4 dremel $60 ones in the past year so I decided to try this little guy, and I am very surprised by its performance. I did change the dremel pad to the thick wide one and use it on the 3rd setting and had no problems as of yet. Well worth the 21 bucksNo need to put a lot of pressure on it while doing nails

Terrific toy. Unsatisfactory tool. The motor is weak and the battery loses charge quickly. The "cutting" wheels have trouble with balsa wood. The grinding bits, which I used to smooth a few burrs on a child's toy, wore down in seconds. The wire-brush wheel is just useless, and the "diamond" tip bits are--well, they're just silly. This is a toy. Not even good for crafts.Update: I've used this "toy" 4x. The "cutting" disks break, the sanding cylinders are beyond useless. The battery lasts for around 10 minutes, and not a single attachment does anything unless you are working with paper-thin balsa wood. It's a piece of garbage that doesn't work. I regret purchasing it.Further Update:The seller contacted me, said thanks for feedback & they 'hope they have resolved the problem'. Funny. They didn't do anything. The product is really awful; I was being polite in the original review. The truth is, the item is garbage, and that's just where it has ended up.Ridiculous Further Update: The seller apologized again, "explained" that the tool is meant for light crafts not heavy work. I assure everyone that I wasn't splitting firewood or framing a house with this thing. I wanted to use it to make small, lightweight toys for my granddaughter--soft woods only. The seller can apologize all it wants, but so far, no offer of a refund or credit. Just lame and obvious "explanations" that are just annoying. To sum up: Product is GARBAGE and customer service is AWFUL.
