This YIHUA 948-II is a brilliant piece of kit. It does everything I need for electronics work — soldering, desoldering, hot air rework, and IC removal — all in one tidy unit. The station heats up quickly and holds temperature very well. The controls are clear and easy to use, with handy user channels to save my preferred settings. The auto and manual modes make it flexible for different tasks, and the calibration feature gives confidence that the readings are accurate. Build quality is solid, and all tools feel well made and comfortable to handle. It looks professional on the workbench and performs just as well as higher-priced alternatives. A great all-rounder for anyone serious about electronics repair or hobby work. Five stars.

It does everything it should and comes with a bunch of spare parts too. The soldering iron keeps the temperature perfectly. As others mentioned the vacuum is on the lighter side but if you do it right, it works perfectly, you don’t need more. I ordered some extra tops as it only comes with a single tip.

All functions work as well as you could reasonably expect at this price point. The desoldering tool works better than my old "duratool" station did and that lasted 10 years..so if I get anything like the same service life from this unit I'll be more than happy at this price. Minor complaints: My unit came missing the suction tools for the component pickup. The wand is there but the angle part and the suction cups themselves are missing. It really could use a separate stands for the iron and the desolder tool, they seem to expect you to use the same stand for both...but if you are cycling between both tools where do you put the other one when it cools down? (fortunately I had a spare stand from the station I was replacing) The hot air gun doesn't have as much airflow as the type where the pump is in the base...it's ok though as generally with these too much airflow means you end up heating components around the part you are working on. Main power switch would be better on the front.

It is a true soldering station because it incorporates most of the required equipment needed when soldering SMTs and also through-holes. I sent an email to Yihua customer care through Amazon and they replied to me within 48 hours with helpful information. They also gave me a black Friday discount which was not listed when i bought the item.

A real strugle to use the de soldering tool as the vacuum is very poor even from brand new It will get worst whit use

We've had ours in our small lab for a couple of years and it gets used daily. Great that you can use the iron and hot air gun at the same time. Despite coming with loads of spares nothing has failed. The only problem we had was a melted heat gun support but it was our fault, didn't seat it back into the support properly and the auto shutoff didn't kick in. The de-soldering gun is effective but you do need to wait until it is fully hot before using and keep it on the joint for sufficient time otherwise like all desoldering guns it will solidify the solder in suction path.
