Just a fantastic product for pill dispensing
My wife is on in-home hospice and takes a number of medicines at specific times during the day. We tried those seven and thirty day pill holders. To problems, because her medicine is taken several times a day we ended up with 5 different 7 day dispenser. Plus we had to mark them with the time of day the pills were to be taken. The problem was she was confusing times and days and ended up taking to many pills. Our Hospice nurse recommended the Ezilife automatic pill dispenser. It has been a terrific product. We set it up for the hours. Because of the number of times during the day she takes pills, it is refilled each time the Nurse visits. We get about a week worth's pills. If you just need pills once or twice a day you will get more days. Another benefit is that it automatically moves to the next slot. It flashes and provides sound to let you know it is time to take your pills. You can only access that particular slot. The unit also locks so if you have someone who is confused and you are afraid they will take to many pills, it won't happen. This pill dispenser has made it much easier to ensure that my wife will not accidentally take to many pills. The directions on setting it up are clear and I would recommend following them exactly. Just a great product

This is a great help for the forgetful and those who may not hear or see well.
The little lock is a pain. Keep working on that design

A literal life saver
My aging father was making some pretty aggregious errors on his meds. I purchased this locked med box in an effort to combat that issue. As my father is aging at home, it has fallen to me to be his care giver. This is requiring more than a little time daily to handle medication dispensing daily.I needed a solution that works ensure he didn't incorrectly take his many meds, and I needed it to not cost $200!!!Here are my thoughts :This container is easy to set up for the most part. However :The paper ring must be in the correct position BEFORE the pills go in and pay close attention to how the tray goes into the carousel. The clock and alarm is easy and intuitive to set and has a mute setting for no alarm. There are 2 things that I don't care for. First, the locking mechanism, which is awkwardly placed underneath the front edge making it difficult to get to. Shouldn't me hard to fix. Second, the key and lock do not for together deeply enough and it's ridiculously difficult to get a grab on the teeth. The key skips over the teeth if its not correctly inserted, rendering efforts futile. What's worse, if given enough effort, it doesn't matter if its in wrong, it will still eventually turn the tumbler and unlock the case regardless of whether you're using the key, your pinky, or a pencil eraser (this takes quite a bit of effort, but is possible. Don't ask....). My concern with this is obvious I think.... A dementia patient with even a little bit of dexterity and a keenness to outsmart their caregivers could easily get into the pill locker. It'll keep the honest patients honest I guess.Since my father does not have dementia or such desires, and is pretty cooperative with his care, it does work for us.Of final note, my father takes about 22 meds plus 6 BIG supplements per day, there is not even close to enough room in this dispensers compartments for even half of those.! The work around I found works reasonably well is to use the ring for double the times per day that he takes meds (ie: for him, 3x per day, so 6 compartments needed. There are over 28 individual compartments to use). I divide the pills for each scheduled dose into 2 of nearly equal quantities, and set the alarm for 10 minutes apart. This works fine most of the time, but causes a need for me to intervene with the key if he misses the first dose, (sleeps in, etc...)as the carousel rotates during each alarm. Bigger compartments would solve this.Overall :7I really appreciate this device, especially at this price point. It IS Life saver, even with it's faults.

Too large
This product is too large and bulky for the elderly population to use

Nice product, as long as the security is not important
Yes it is large, it can hold 28 days of medication (really wish it could do 31 for an entire month). The measurements are on the product page, but it is a circle with a 5" radius, easy enough to hold but yes large. The pockets are quite deep, I doubt there are much in the way of meds you couldn't fit into it. I wouldn't say too great for travel use due to the size. The primary problem is the "overdose protection" / "Locking Cover Blocks Unauthorized Access". I got the device to keep pills away from young children. I figure this is probably on the lower end of the security spectrum. Sadly I feel while most of the device is fairly strongly engineered the wheel inside is the week point. It has dividers between each of the days when you open the slide cover it is quite easy to push on the divider to force the wheel to rotate. It doesn't take much pressure to do so either. I would not want to trust any semi risky medication in the presence of children. You can't disable the alarm completely but you can silence it so it only flashes.

Best thing for my forgetful mom
It works perfect so far. The alarm is plenty loud and the flashing light helps too. Mom always hears it and remembers to take her meds. Before she wasn't taking them or would take them twice, not knowing what day it was. She can now safely take her pill because it is locked except for the time she is supposed to take them. She can also look at the screen and know what date and day of the week. Thank you for a great product.
