May cause damage to what ever you use it onThere is a LOT of Gel GOOP in the bottom of this thing.It took almost an hour to get it almost clean.When you extract your fluid you them expel it into another container causing the Gel Goop to also be pushed into the thin tube. Then you stick this tube back into your engine or break line to extract more fluid.... BUT some of the Gel Goop is on or in the tube and can contaminate what ever you are working on.The only SAFE way to use this is to get ALL the Gel Goop out, But then the plunger probably won't work. OR extract your fluid then REMOVE the tube BEFORE expelling into another container then with the plunger back down reconnecting the tube. This way the tube is never contaminated.This is Over Kill but I don't want this Gel Goop in my break lines or engine.

Purchased this to use for power steering fluid not realizing Subaru has an electronic steering system. So when I changed my coolant out, this was perfect for draining out the overflow reservoir since it is not easily removable from the car. Holds a lot and was able to reach the bottom of the tank to really get all the grime that settled at the bottom. Highly recommend for thin fluid like antifreeze, and it would likely be great for thicker fluids like power steering, brake or trans fluid.

I bought this to change my manual transmission's gear oil. If you watch a video of the process, you will understand why this tool is so vital. It is impossible to pour it in by hand with a funnel. Even with the easy pour containers that the gear oil is sold in, a little bit is wasted. With this tool, there is even less waste and minimal mess to deal with after.It comes with an extension hose and rubber adapter for it as said extension is thinner in diameter than the one that connects directly to the syringe. It slows down the suction slightly. It is not long enough to siphon gas out of a tank, but it should be able to reach a majority of vehicle fluid reservoirs. If it can't reach what you need to in your vehicle, just buy a longer hose that will fit the adapter.I can't say as to how it performs in regards to removing very cold fluids in winter, but at ambient temperatures, it has no problem extracting and pumping out the heavier weight oils.This tool will no doubt help me maintain other machinery like a boat engine (a must for the marine mech as well), roto tiller, generator, riding mower and small tractor. It has the volume etched on the syringe in both SAE and metric for easy measuring. It requires average hand strength to operate.
