I purchased to help keep the propane heaters tank to not frost up & keep warming at a higher level. The idea of wrapping the tank in an electric blanket scared me & I thought this, dissappointingly, an option.

The cover is just a cover and nothing else. The plug in warmer would probably be the one to go with if you have harsh winters. If you live somewhere with mild to light winter temperatures it would suit your needs.Chuck
