MTB Protex 50mm Bike Frame Protection Tape – Helicopter Tape Self Adhesive - Clear Gloss – Protect Your Bike from Scratches, Scrapes and Chips (50mm x 1M)

Very happy with this tape. Used to protect my bike frame in areas where the chain could rub or stones could flick up. It’s wide and flexible with good adhesive- I’ve cut it to shape and applied to some awkward curves and it moulds on well. Had it on for over a year now and you can’t really see it. Easy to cut and apply and long lasting protection.

I bought this tape to protect two specific parts of my MTB frame: around the top tube, where a brake line bangs the frame over rough ground, and to protect the underside of the downtube. For these uses it was excellent - it sticks well, blends into the paint and is thick enough to offer long term protection. That said, the tape is thicker than the film that you get with full frame protection kits, so I would imagine that it would be hard to use it to cover a complete frame: it wouldn't have the required flexibility for joints and angles. But to protect specific parts of the frame (those most likely to suffer chips and wear) this is excellent.

Works well. It has protected my bike from rubbing tapes during an 800km tour.

Thick, durable, quite inflexible, needs hairdryer for best application, but still easy to apply.

Easy to cut and use to protect the frame on my new bike, I want to protect the frame where I have used cable to ties to fit a mudguard, works well great adhesive. Very pleased

I used this for my bike bars to stop scratching happening when I attach my bike to my car. Worked perfectly. No sticky residue it’s easy to peel back and stick to your bike. It’s easy to remove so if you need to move the tape on first application you can. Once it’s stuck it doesn’t peel off. Quality product.
