Hebrew Alphabet Coloring Book (Dover Bilingual Books For Kids)

Great for me and my 4 year son to learn 👍

It is good to inject fun in an adult Hebrew class with a coloring book! This works best when used in conjunction with Z'man Likro: Time to Read Hebrew. Each page is a Hebrew letter with a drawing with eight or so things that use that letter. The Hebrew words next to each item on each drawing uses HAND-PRINTED script and NOT book font script. So the student needs to learn both fonts to benefit. The English equivalent is numerically keyed at the bottom of each page, but there is NO phonetic rendition. Part of the fun is seeing a "lemon" in the drawing and sounding out the Hebrew script to discover that it says "leemon" ... there is at least one such "giveaway" word like that on most pages for English speakers. Otherwise, treat this tool as a vocabulary booster. You will NOT learn Hebrew using this book, but it will reinforce what you learn in class.

This kept my younger child (6-7) occupied through long adult-geared services before he became old enough to want to follow along with everything. He could join in the parts of service that he knew and the book would keep him entertained Jewish-style throughout everything else, also stopping him from being a distraction. The paper is a good thickness/quality and the pictures are varied and interesting. Plenty of pages. Probably best for ages 4-8 but could suit others too. Even an adult might find it relaxing to color-in, as it's not "babyish". It has a little paragraph at the bottom of each page about what's in the picture. Everyone at services liked the book too!

Amusing supplement for building Hebrew vocab for children and adults. Tying a picture to a word solidifies it in memory. Was surprised that the book reads from left to right; however the pictures are quite memorable and the English to Hebrew vocab index at the back of the book is a handy resource too.

Organized in an easy to use format. Will be copying pages to use over and over. If you do not have an introductory knowledge, then it might be difficult to pass along to a child. The picture format with each letter and word is perfectly done. Highly suggest this coloring book.What a great way to let kids know the alphabet started with the aleph bet. Each letter has a word and picture element to them. Good building block lessons for even adults as they add onto each step in the language.

livret anglophone agrafé souple grand format ancien (1986) présentant 22 lettres de l'alphabet hébraïque et 250 mots simples en n&b prêts à être coloriés; une lettre est représentée en grand sur chacune des pages accompagnée d'une dizaine de dessins représentant un mot en hébreux; les noms en anglais correspondants sont en bas de page; pas d'images en couleur servant de modèles sur les pages de garde comme pour d'autres publications du même éditeur ce qui laisse toute latitude à l'imagination; index des mots hébreux en fin d'ouvrage; ce livre de coloriage bien fait et sérieux sera parfait pour l'initiation à l'hébreux d'enfants de plus de sept ans suffisamment soigneux et patients pour s'appliquer; je dois reconnaître avoir été favorablement surpris par la qualité de cette publication, ayant été échaudé par plusieurs tentatives précédentes, et je dois dire que j'ai enfin trouvé ce que je cherchais et j'envisage d'acquérir d'autres ouvrages de la même série (taper sur le moteur de recherche d'Amazon: Dover coloring book); je pense qu'il vaut mieux préférer les ouvrages neufs même s'ils sont légèrement plus chers pour éviter le risque de se retrouver avec un exemplaire crayonné!

I photocopy the pictures for my kids so we can keep using it and it's a simple way for the kids to learn the Hebrew letters & to just visually see the Hebrew.

Un livre pas cher du tout avec de nombreuses illustrations à colorier. Un dictionnaire anglais-hébreu à la fin qui reprend les mots vus dans le corps du livre. très bien pour débuter l'apprentissage de l'hébreu.
