Mel Bay Fun with the Bugle Paperback – May 29, 2015

Is was a quick read. Compared to the other books I read on bugle, I probably could have skipped this one. It did have the best drawings for lip position of the books I read. I was hoping for more bugle calls. This book had good instruction for the beginner to hone their skills on tonguing and slurring.

Good book to get you started. Has practical routines and will definately get you started into bugling at a economic price. Keep in mind that there are many web sites that will give you reference to how calls are played once you get started with this book. There is a embouchure difference of opinion with many other instructors as to lip placement. It ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Good starter books which goes over the basics with Pictures too. I am learning how to play for the first time at 39 years old.

The book is scarce on info lacks a CD so I supplement from the internet.The five notes discussed in the book are available on You Tube.

This was a gift and it has been reported that the book was a great aid with learning to play the bugle, which was also a gift.

Haven't spent much time with it, but seems as was advertised. Need to spend the time to read it more.

My son is learning to be a bugler for Civil War reenactment. This book gives him all the bugle calls plus a CD for learning. Very happy with it.

I already play the trumpet and got this book hoping for some playing tips and bugle music. This book didn't, tell me anything a trumpet player would not already know and it does not contain any bugle music, not even the Last Post, so will be returning this product.

an enthusiastic first person text which appeals to me, felt like friendly advice was available, based on considerable experience; good information on technique and a brief practice repertoire, easy to digest.
