Sounds great...
Works fine, using it to connect the 4.4 mm balanced output from my Astell & Kern Kann Max to a 4 pin XLR cable to my Focal Scallia headphones. A noticeable improvement over using unbalanced cables.

High Quality At Affordable Price
I have several GUCraftsman adapters and they are consistently well-built, function great. Difficult to say if they impact sound quality, but silver has best conductance and I am happy with these. Worth every penny.

It’s good.
Sounds good, but it’s a little too short. I wish that at least 3 more inches was added to the length. Difficult to fold kinda, so I just let it hang. Other than that, no problems.

Unique plug awesome construction
I have ONE piece of equipment that has a 4 pin mic jack on it. I didn't believe that I could order a connector to go into my stereo recorder. This is the exact piece... But notice this is NOT a 3 pin XLR end but a 4 pin. IF you need it, hard to come by, if you don't it won't work for anything else. This company is known for making quality cables and this one is no exception! The soldering in the XLR is perfect, and the silver cable between ends is the highest quality. Can you tell the difference in signal? I don't know but for me the durability is key.

No kidding this thing is tight!
I'm surprised by the workmanship here. Well-made and quality materials. The balanced cable seems to perform as well as name brands.

Superb, premium quality from this manufacturer
I’ve bought a few cables from this shop, GUCraftsman, and their choice of materials, build quality, aesthetics, packaging and craftsmanship are all super-premium and lovingly executed. I get the sense that this manufacturer is a boutique shop with someone in charge who is uncompromisingly devoted to quality—and their refreshingly honest and ethical choice not to gouge their prices into the stratosphere like so many “audiophile” cable manufacturers is downright peerless.I love everything about these cables. They’re all gorgeous, flawlessly constructed, rock solid in your hands, seamlessly put together, and they feel like they’ll last a lifetime—they’re clearly hand built and assembled and the QC is extraordinary.I have a pair of Focal Utopia’s that are a work of art unto themselves—and these cables and connectors compliment them aesthetically to the point where they make a pair of $4,000 headphones look like they cost even more. Focals are heralded for their luxurious design, and my GUCraftsman cable looks like Focal collaborated on their design and shipped it over from France right in their box.But in the last analysis it’s all about the sound: and these cables made a jaded guy like me become a stalwart believer that the choice of wiring and connectors leaves an unmistakable mark on the sound signature that is in no way subtle at ALL. I originally bought an insultingly expensive, silver plated copper cable from one of the self-congratulatory “flagship” audiophile cable outfits out there, and they made me question whether the Utopias were a mistake—the sound was, without an ounce of hyperbole, white-hot, sizzlingly bright and metallic, and I hit fatigue after a couple of minutes. I fiddled for hours with gain settings, worried I was feeding them too much power or had an impedance mismatch. It never would have occurred to me to blame the cable. But after some extensive research, I decided to give a high-grade oxygen-free copper cable a try, and I found one from GUCraftsman here on Amazon that was priced so astonishingly fair that until I heard them I questioned whether their spec sheet was misleading. It wasn’t—as soon as I plugged them in the Utopias, the sound completely transformed. The grating high end was just gone—every track I played was smooth, warm and enveloping, musical as hell, with every frequency seeming to settle right into the ultimate Harman Curve. Every single bit of magic I had heard about the Utopias was instantly apparent paired with these cables—I imagine I paid quite a bit for the stock ones that came with it, and I couldn’t be happier that their connectors weren’t compatible with my gear.I hope I’ve conveyed everything I need to convince folks to give this GUCraftsman shop a try. Upon the rare instances that I come across a stellar mom-and-pop shop like this that has the integrity not to sell anything they wouldn’t use for themselves, it makes me want to champion their efforts—whoever you are offering us these beautiful contributions to our joyous experiences with music, please consider this approbation my gesture of heartfelt gratitude 🙏

Dead silence
Using this to connect the 4mm balanced output of my excellent iFi go blu to the 4pin xlr connection of my Focal Clear headphones. Positive connections apparently no strain on the connections. Simply “isn’t there” sonically. Amazingly low noise floor and clean sound even via Bluetooth from my iPhone. Very pleased by my purchase. The Focal XLR cable is kind of long and cumbersome but I found I could easily incorporate the connector into a somewhat portable package. I’m not going out jogging wearing the Clears, anyway.

Audio
Cable could be a little bit longer, but works fine. Be aware this is a 4 pin XLR NOT 3 pin in case you just look at the photo and the design.
